It was disappointing to have to pay an extra $9+ for a surcharge because it was Matariki and not everyone was charge this as I could see what was being rung up on the till from where I was sat. Read moreAverage food and below average customer service. Witnessed a father by himself trying to make a bottle for his son. He was clearly overwhelmed as his son was irritated and clearly tired. Cafe staff gave him a mug of boiled water and a bottle of cold water to make his bottle, but he was finding it difficult to pour the hot water into the bottle without burning himself or his child. My sister and I went over to help, going back and forth with the staff to get his bottle filled and ready for the child. The coffee arrived first and tasted burnt, it wasn't very nice.
Everything on the plate waffles, except for the fruit, was clearly out of a packet. The waffles weren't freshly made. They were pre-packaged and warmed up. They looked and tasted like it. The whipped cream was canned. The mascaparone was also pre made. The only thing that would have involved any cooking was the caremalized bananas.
