Had dinner at tonight and ordered 3 entrees and a main to share for the two of us. The food was delicious but the service was appalling. I've made an online reservation for 2 for 7.30pm, and have written a note to request to be seated somewhere that's not windy or cold. We arrived early and have kindly mentioned we can come back 30 minutes later if our table isn't ready/available. The waiter who attended to us said, "oh yes just for a reservation for 2 people" and i said yes. He pointed that we can sit anyway and pointed to an empty table of 2 as a option. Just as we were about to sit down, he asked if we wanted to sit outside. Clearly, he didn't read the part in my online booking where we had asked to be seated somewhere warm. Which is ok, mistakes do happen. Then he took our orders and our food arrived. Halfway through it, we were wondering if our third entrees would come out with our main. Our main arrived without our third entree. We informed the waitress about it who kindly apologised and brought out our third entree. Throughout the whole time we were there, the restaurant was fairly quiet, there were only a couple of customers who came in after us, and didn't seem to have any uber eats/delivery orders. They seemed fairly quiet and weren't rushed off their feet, but no one came to check in on us. We were waiting for someone to come take our dirty plates and perhaps ask if we wanted to look at the dessert menu. Nope, there was nothing and the waiters looked disinterested, just hanging around the bar area. Though I saw in another review that their Basque cheesecake was good, we decided not to spend any more money since they seemed pretty disinterested. When we went up to the counter to ask for the bill, the same waiter, who directed us to be seated, who missed our third entree, even gave us the wrong bill. He clearly did not remember which table we were seated at, what we were served, if we were served the correct food, and gave us the wrong bill which was 30% more expensive than our bill. He also did not apologise for his error, just a disinterested blasè, "oh which table are you at?" There were only 3 occupied tables in the restaurant, only 2 of which were having food and he could not remember which table we were seated at. It's quite clear the service needs a lot of improvement. We enjoyed the food and the flavours reminded us of our trips to Spain but we will never visit Tasca again. They definitely need to work on their customer service skills to keep...
Read moreDON'T COME HERE FOR DINNER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON GETTING SERIOUSLY DRUNK. I've had brunch here a couple of times but decided to try the dinner menu last Friday night and was utterly shocked! The serving sizes are ridiculously small that rather than focusing on the food I was eating, all I could think about was all the other things I could've bought at a different restaurant for the same price, for example their Chilli Prawns Tapas literally came with FOUR PRAWNS and a piece of toasted bread at a whopping cost of $19!! The food was only half of it though, the service was horrible. I had made a booking in advance and when we arrived they fluffed around for 5 minutes trying to find our booking before finally seating us right outside their outdoor kitchen which was uncomfortable from start to finish, first of all there was no heating near our table, secondly we couldn't enjoy our dinner with the sound of whisking, bells ringing and waiters walking back and forth serving others while neglecting us as we were at the rejects table. To top it off, for dessert I ordered the Almond Brownie which after a long wait was bought in from the cafe section of the restaurant by a waitress, I thought it was coming straight to my table but I was SO wrong! The brownie was placed at the kitchen, after 5 minutes of me staring at my brownie which was literally 1 meter away from me it got placed in the MICROWAVE, I should've ran then but decided to see it through. The brownie stayed in the microwave for another 5 minutes before the kitchen staff had to put something else in the microwave and realised the brownie was still in there, FINALLY I got my brownie and basically had to stab it with my fork to get into it when it literally crumbled all over the table because it was so dry and stale after being reheated in the microwave, I took one bite before wanting to burst into tears from frustration. Seriously disappointed with my experience at Tasca and seeing first hand what really goes on behind the scenes in...
Read moreI popped into Tasca on Dominion Road with a friend last night being Sunday around 5.30pm - we thought we would pop into the back lovely garden bar to share a sangria on our way home. we were greeted by the most unfriendly 2 people who asked if we had booked. (the place was empty) so we said no and we had just popped in for a drink and proceeded to walk outside to the outdoor garden.
We were then rudily stopped by the waitress who shouted at me" excuse me I am talking to you " and rudely pointed at me and told me the only 2 tables available were 2 very small 2 seater tables. As I mentioned the place was so quiet, maybe 3 tables occupied.
I am sorry but to be treated so rudely for coming in for one drink is not acceptable behaviour
I am sorry Tasca's but as much a I used to love your restaurant and more importantly your Sangria, I or my large circle of friends will not be returning and as for the rude waitress.. I am sorry, but I will not be spoken to like that - you are a very arrogant and rude...
