Where do we even begin, securing a seat was not a problem this time around, we were given 3 napkins for a party of 4, 2 of which must have been used by previous customers since they were crumpled and wrinkled with a couple of food stains on them, we were given some more napkins and naturally with it, some more dirty or used ones.
The menu contained a solid selection of meals to try and our waitress was capable of listening to four different people and putting their words to paper. The unenthused waitress and lack of attention when being called upon also called for a poor environment and experience. The wait for our food was not actually too long, averaging around 15 minutes for the first order to arrive and an extra 5 minutes for the final order to be brought out.
The food we ordered (in the order it arrived): 1 x Pulled pork bun 1 x Hot Dog 1 x Chicken Burger 1 x Cheeseburger (not sure how the cheeseburger was the last to arrive)
The above items saw no real complaints (the main one being the over sauced hot dog, it was like looking at a swimming noodle all alone in a swimming pool) but also no compliments, the food is average at best, nothing like it was during Cereal Killa's time in the Metro Top 50, It is obvious to see that the real breadwinner of this cafe are the milkshakes/drinks.
This place was once an awesome spot on my Go-To list, but now it has traversed to the 'Try again in half a year' list.
The milkshakes are still top notch and it is clear to see that the cafe's reputation was heavily influenced by them, they would be an easy 5/5 in an individual rating and it is for this reason alone that it even gets a 2 star overall rating from me. Provided the napkins are clean, this cafe is an amazing place to bring your kids for a chilled beverage, especially with summer just...
Read moreWho wants to try a kill-a aesthetically pleasing milkshake? If the answer is a resounding YES then Cereal Killa Cafe got you sorted. This cosy cafe with great ambience and creative artwork is the perfect brunch spot for catching up with friends while enjoying delicious food and epic milkshakes. Note absolutely everything minus the tomato sauce is homemade on site! We had the following items: Unicorn Vanilla Milk Shake ($17.50) We tried this special edition freak shake and it was magical. If you are a massive fan of dessert or generally a sweet tooth then you would love this and it is very Instgram worthy 8/10. Also, there is 13 other flavours you can choose from for this epic milkshakes. French Toast ($18.50) Daayum this exceeded our expectation with its amazing presentation and taste. The wild berry compote and maple syrup complimented so well to create a nice not too overly sweet. The fruity component added freshness but had that decadent side of naughtiness with the pistachio covered cake-like toast and cream 10/10 Vegetarian Crunchy Nachos ($17.50) Hands down the best vegetarian nachos that we have had in Auckland. The flavour of the dish was very on point and cooked very well. The vegan mince they used is from their homemade vegan patty. Love the texture, not mushy, had a big to it and the spices were lovely. The overall sweet flavour profile matched well with the spices and united the dish 10/10 Red Roar Juice ($9) A tasty juice blended together with ABC+G. If you read up to here, comment down below what ABC + G stands for. Great service from staff + great food + epic milkshakes = Food Coma and a must visit for everyone else. Also, the price is very reasonable and slightly cheaper than...
Read moreI wish i could leave zero stars because this place was just not it. social media hyped it up so much and i wanted to go try their huge shakes. honestly from the moment my boyfriend and i walked in it was horrible, there are just 3 staff who all have attitudes and very bad service skills (like they donât know what they are doing) i am a waitress myself and iâve never been somewhere where the service was this bad, they donât clean the tables at all until you ask and she left the dirty cloth on our table and walked away, half of our table still had dirty milkshakes glasses and plates of food the entire time we were there. we ordered the cookies and cream shake and it did not taste like it should have at all, we ordered the waffle which took over 20 minutes to arrive and then she dropped it to the wrong table and it definitely didnât look at all like the picture it was so plain which was so disappointing, for myself i ordered the big breakfast and i could not have been more disappointed and underwhelmed, with absolutely no taste and burnt mushrooms and i asked for poached eggs and they were so over cooked, the bread had no butter so i went up to the very disorganised front counter to ask for butter and they gave me fully MELTED butter in a tiny tiny plastic condiments container. everything was so bad please donât waste your time and money like i did at this place, I also asked for a receipt and the lady literally said she was too busy making milkshakes to reprint a receipt for me. also a homeless woman walked into this cafe and asked table to table for money, everyone...
