Went here to celebrate my grandson's birthday. There were 3 of us and our eyes were bigger than our bellies - we ended up with takeaway boxes! The staff were excellent - very helpful and nothing was a problem. The food was excellent and good value for money - we had the platter (sooo much food), mushroom risotto, extra bread, smashed potatoes with parmesan, pulled pork tacos and jackfruit tacos! Plus I had 1 and a half "no no mojitos" (mojito with no alcohol..so yummy) and one of our group had an alcoholic cocktail, but I can't remember the name of it; she did say it was nice though! We sat at outside, but still sheltered, tables and it was a pleasant night for outdoor dining. We parked in a small carpark next door - it did have a sign saying only for another business, but it was after hours and no one towed the car away; Valley Rd is not the best for parking - it has a bit of parking but mostly reserved for the business nearest to the carpark. Highly recommend this...
Read moreI enjoyed the bar, but not the latin dance class that took place on Saturday nighg. Paid $10 for a 'beginners' class where the 'instructor' taught by stating the names of moves, blindly explaining the steps to everyone by counting from 1-7 instead of explaining the actual motions. Obviously no experience in teaching a class. Several people dropped out because the teaching didn't make any sense. Not professional. Was about half an hour late to start the class and didn't do a mic check at the beginning and had to address the feedback from the speakers. The 'instructor' asked the DJ to play another song but the DJ had only downloaded one song. The 'instructor' had to get somebody else to count in the steps because they didn't have a wired headset and it became really hard to hear. A shambles really. The most expense and pointless $10 spent on an entry stamp. Does not make me want to come back to...
Read moreWe had a lovely time here and will come back again
We loved coming here previously and was one of our favourite places due to specific items on the menu. We would usually order their lamb with mash and gravy or the risotto but unfortunately the menu has since changed.
We tried their steak (I got rib eye and my partner got scotch) and a side of maccaroni and corn. Overall, we enjoyed the meal but had a few notes.
The fries that came with the steakweres a bit oily (felt a bit sick after because of this, but the steak and mushroom sauce was delicious and so was the salad that came with it. We loved the buttery corn side, but the macaroni and cheese side was average.
Would still recommend coming here, but they definitely need to bring back some of the classic items on the menu (duck risotto and lamb and mash) as there was a lot...
