Johney's Dumpling House — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

Have loved Johneys dumplings since first trying them at One Love in 2018. I was in Tauranga the weekend just gone and thought I would pay them a visit for lunch, I was so excited!!! :) found it hard to find the place, I was looking for a sign saying "johneys dumplings" but ended up being under "RisingTides" lol beautiful set up and vibe inside. Lovely customer service, but unfortunately food service was slooow and I found burgers to be quite over priced for what I recieved. We ordered 2x cheese burgers, 2 lots of 4pc dumplings, curly fries and a glass of coke. My coke was left on the counter and after 20mins the lady brings it over. By then its flat. 1x burger comes out with the dumplings and we waited for the rest to be bought to our table before eating. The second burger comes out 5-10mins later, and then curly fries about 10mins after that. By time all our food was at the table, everything was warm except the curly fries. The burgers were average and imo not worth $16 each. Dumplings were delicious as usual but not hot by time we ate them. Curly fries were nice and fresh. Not sure why our order wasn't bought out all at once, but that kind of ruined the experience for me! Il stick to getting just the dumplings at...

Saw this place was recommended by others online and decide to try. Ordered the pork and vege dumplings and also the herby prawn dumplings all pan fried. Also got the deep fried pork bun and their cheeseburger. The dumplings was more expensive than usual asian places but they were fairly big size and was cooked very well. I prefer the texture of the herby prawn. Cheeseburger was also very nice, with some sweet pickle. The deep fried pork bun was just ok for me. It is quite oily and mostly bun than pork. However the whole meal was far better than expected. Would definitely be back.

Johneys Dumplings are the BEST dumplings ever!! The flavors are banging and their chili oil is just heaven in a jar! My fav ones are the supreme dumplings pan fried. You can also get steamed ones or deep fried dumplings. But a MUST is their chili oil on top! I would give them 6/5 stars if I could! Thanks guys for your...
