My partner and I had dinner here. It was OK. We had the Mucho Nachos as an entree to share. The mince was very watery once you go through all the melted cheese on the top. I personally would have like the mince mix to be more thicker with mince but unfortunately this was not the case. Taste was good but texture could be better. My partner had the rib eye to which he enjoyed. Although when someone asks for well done I thought that meant no pink in the middle? In saying so if they cooked it anymore then he would of had a crispy piece of meat but not that he was complaining. I had the Calamari entree. Originally I asked for the 2x tacos with calamari but when the young man who took my order came to ask whether I wanted the entree or mains, I mindlessly said entree, so I was served 2x entree size plates of calamari. In saying this though I really enjoyed them and grateful for the small portions. I love my glass of pink sangria and my partner certainly loved his porn star highball cocktail. He had to drink it slow because it was strong but it was nice. Overall, cheap date night, food was OK, drinks were great and the company wasn't...
Read moreLast time we dined here I would have given it 5 stars, it was a guaranteed Mexican feast! Value for money, and no one leaving hungry. This time, however, we noticed a definite difference in meal sizes - the chimichangas used to be super generous. However, this time they were very small, only had about 3 tablespoons of Mexican rice and a small amount of guacamole and sour cream. There wasn’t a lot more to those plates than the kids meal we got, we’ve had bigger entrees. Luckily we had ordered the queso, or the boys would have still been hungry. Queso was amazing as always. Nachos didn’t come with guac, which should just be an absolute given. Pulled pork tacos were very yummy, although again a small plate - 2 for $20 was a bit steep. 3 for $25 would have been more reasonable. Kids meal was good value at $8 - the Sunday special. Had to ask for the corn chips as they weren’t served initially. Frozen mango margs were a winner. Nice friendly service. Quite dark in our booth - needed to use phone lights to read the menu. Great decor. Nice to go to a restaurant that uses real candles and not electric ones - adds to...
Read moreSuch a great experience. I have a severe allergy to pork, I rung ahead and the lady I spoke to was so helpful and friendly. She phoned me back after talking to the chefs. Who were so accommodating and knowledgeable, very professional kitchen. When I went to the restaurant, the chef bought my food to me and assured all care was taken. So blown away at the care taken and all with kindness and respect. Its a rare thing to eat out in nz and not have the usual speech of terror announced loudly at your table... That they cannot guarantee that you won't get poisoned or sick! Does not make you feel safe or taken seriously, or even happy to enjoy your meal.... Not here, these guys are AMAZING... From our waitress to the chefs and the lady who took my call and phoned me back... A big thank you... Its the first time I've dined in a restaurant in 3 years where pork is prepared and felt safe and was not made ill..... Thank you beyond words... The food was just divine 🌟😍 I now have somewhere safe to ea out....makes me feel normal again... I too can eat out and enjoy gatherings once more 💖🌟🌟🎉🎉😊... Thank you all so...
