Dom's — Restaurant in Canterbury

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time… as a pizza lover eating the finest between Europe, USA and Australia this one has topped them all. Tucked into the stunning village of Methvan, Dom’s pizza will be the only memory you need to keep from your time here if visiting - or if your a local you should already know what I’m talking about.

Ordered 2 pizzas for an early dinner and mentioned how I loved a classic margarita but wanted to branch out for the evening and try something different with the 2 I had ordered.

I was in pure joy when our speedy takeaway delivery was handed over as the team there had also prepared a little taster of their classic margarita pizza, and boy did that prove a thing or two!!! So tasty, hot and delicious all round, all three pizzas.

Thankyou Dom’s pizza and the lovely lady who served me, your slices of generosity are much appreciated and you’ve won over some new fans.

Mediocre at best. Ordered a cheeseburger, meat lovers pizza and a 5 pack of chicken. Pizza is very tasteless and the base was quite doughy, it lacked flavour considering it was covered with a generous amount of toppings. I'm unsure why it was so small compared to the box, I ordered the largest. Cheeseburger had a good mixture of sauces and was okay, but for the price it was lackluster and really underwhelming. Chicken was tasty but also lacked anything else to call it amazing, it could have come with a side of dipping sauce or something to give it a little flavour. Wait time was a little slow, the atmosphere was boring and the staff were absolutely emotionless I could barely get a hello or smile... I know Christmas is close and everyone is tired but at least be a little festive.

All in all $62 of food was pretty boring and definitely not worth the wait, I'm just unsure how such an ingredient heavy pizza could...

I should have visited Dom's on previous visits to Methven. After a long loop road trip I stopped on the way back to the West Coast. Genuinely awesome pizza. I bought 3 large with 6 flavours as 50/50 pizzas. Loved them all but the find for me was the NZ salmon topping. A fantastic discovery for me. The spiced lamb made my mouth tingle and the home made in-house Aioli went perfectly with the popcorn chicken which is by far the best I've eaten. All in all, delicious pizzas and there is a point of difference in these pizzas that make them a cut above the cheaper places and that's the QUALITY authentic ingredients. 100% we are coming back and making a 60+km diversion...
