Generally we've had good experience but arrived at Station One around 11am on a Saturday. Staff were happy to serve us until we showed our Treatme voucher. We were told we should have booked and there would now be a longer wait time. This seemed strange as the café was less than half full at that time and only 3 tables seemed to be awaiting food. However, we saw this in the fine print afterwards, so OK, that was on us. We were told to take a seat and they would come to take our order when they were ready (despite ‘normal’ customers ordering at the counter). When ordering an American with hot milk at the side, the waitress gave a complicated reason that the other drink must also contain hot milk, otherwise it was too much trouble to make hot milk on the side. Our food then arrived after 20 mins, which didn’t seem longer than usual and the food was really good. 20 mins after the food arrived and was eaten, we were asked how long we would stay and felt rushed off so that they could put someone else in our seat, despite there being several other tables available. We felt we were treated very differently because of the voucher. The complications and being hurried off the table, no matter how nicely they asked, should be a big ‘no no’ in hospitality. We would suggest a bit of training for staff and don’t offer vouchers if a customer is made to feel like an inconvenience. It doesn’t benefit...
Read moreBurgers are awesome. The chicken is cooked well and the fillings are fresh. I personally enjoyed the spicy chicken. Upon entry we were greeted with a friendly smile, and when we asked if we could sit out the back we were greeted with an eagerness to find a table and chairs to accommodate us. A nice little space sheltered from the wind but in full sun at lunch time was lovely.
I didn't want this in the front of my review because hospitality is such a tough industry and people can be mean for no reason. I really enjoyed this space and felt welcomed but I did have some criticisms that I didn't feel were well received and I wasn't trying to ruin anybodys day. I also ordered a thickshake alongside but I would not recommend a thickshake. When I mentioned that the thickshake was not what it should be and I would like a refund on that and just a water please I felt as if I had offered a large plate of offence and that was never my intention. A refund was given and water was brought to the table however the glasses looked as if they had been put through a steriliser machine and stacked without drying or checking for cleanliness. The glasses were then hand washed and were on the way back to the table as we were bring plates in having finished our meal. I hope you do well in business as the burger was yum and the cabinet food...
Read moreOk, I don't leave reviews often but after visiting Bites and Bun today I had to! My family visited on Saturday, we were warmly welcomed and ordered x2 Big breakfast and x2 pancakes. ALL of it was absolutely perfect and delicious. My daughter has tried pancakes all over the city and said by far these were the best she ever had! Our big breakfast was absolutely delectable, everything was cooked to perfection! The mushrooms were delicious (my youngest even ordered an extra side), the bacon was crispy but not over cooked, eggs were spot on. The cafe itself was very clean and comfortable with cool booth seats to sit at. Fantastic customer service, the lovely man who greeted us took our orders and bought out chilled glasses for our drinks. I'm telling you!! Check this cafe out, you wont regret it. We live over the other side of town but can't...
