CBK Craft Bar & Kitchen Ferrymead — Restaurant in Christchurch

Me and my partner often come here and everyone it’s nice sometimes we think there should be something different in our dishes but it’s just our personal preference. Overall the staff are always friendly and kind. Today we had the calamari to start then the smash burger and the chicken linguine for mains. The calamari wasn’t rubbery at all which was lovely and it had a nice crunch although some pieces were inconsistent in the texture of the crumbing it was a lovely stater overall. I’d give it a 7/10 My partner had the smash burger which he thought was a classic main to get and a very safe option he rated it a 5/10 I had the chicken linguine and honestly I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavour of the pasta it had a lovely creamy pesto taste to it which went well with the chicken. The chicken was so soft and had a smoky flavour to it. I didn’t like the taste of the chicken by itself but in the pasta it just made sense. They also put bacon in there and I feel as though the bacon was ever so slightly too crunchy for my liking but overall I give it a solid 8/10. Plus the portion of pasta I got was pretty big overall I rate this restaurant a 9/10 because you know your gonna be satisfied every time...

A friend and I wnt there 2wks ago and were very disappointed. I had been there several times before it changed hands and had always loved the meals so thought we'd give it a go. Unfortunately meal was terrible I had a salad with noodles etc.. through it and paid xtra $6 for a side of chicken on it. I asked the waitress if it was chicken breast and she said it was, then I received it and it was chicken thigh which was completely tasteless like the salad, it was a very bland unusual tasting salad...the waitress asked how our meals were and I said it was bland/tasteless and commented on her saying it was chicken breast when ur was theigh which tasted as though it had just been cut up and boiled then thrown into salad. My friend had Nachos which were very pale colouerd meat with no chilli beans/sauce just very basic and bland no flavour also. Mine cost me $39.95 for one drink of Cider and the $26 salad which I didnt eat much of...The worst $40 I have spent and will never go back again. Tonight at CBK absolutely blew our socks off!! 🧡 You know those nights where you’re not expecting much and then they turn out to be amazing? Yep… tonight was one of those.

From the moment I called to book, I was greeted with such genuine warmth and friendliness .. it instantly set the tone for what turned out to be a gorgeous night.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by the loveliest smiley person (wish I got his name!) who made us feel so special straight away. (He was also the person on the phone - Preet?)

THEN… we realised the beautiful live music playing was by Lee Martin 🧡🧡🙏🙏who we know! Total surprise and just added to the magic.

Throughout the whole night we felt looked after, drinks flowing, food arriving in perfect timing, and zero feeling of being forgotten (which sadly happens too often these days!).

The oysters, seafood, and stone grill? Absolutely to die for. Every bite was perfection.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the lovely owner Dan came over to say hello and check in, such a kind, genuine human.
