Firstly- no menu Monday ( a three course meal plus two drinks) no where in the advertorial does it explain that the size of this 3 course meal is literally bite size. The meal consisted of a slaw smaller than the palm of my hand followed by 1 boa bun each with 3 pieces of meat inside and then a dessert that consisted of two table spoons of food. Even when i messaged before hand and asked if it would be filling enough for 1 big eater and 1 medium eater the reply was Probably not. The answer should of been definitely no way not even close! . I was told via Facebook msg that I'd be aloud to order sides to beef up the meal( even now knowing the size of the meal I doubt it would of helped) yet when I got there the waitress with tattoos told me oh that was the owner that said that, he doesn't really know what it's like in here and you can't order any sides . Yet the couple next to us had a bowl of fries and also had the no menu Monday. ???? Didn't make any sence. It almost seemed like she couldn't of been bothered . The food was very good but was just so tiny . And if I had know it was a tasting menu aka not a proper meal then there would of been no way I would of taken my mum let alone any one here . Very disappointed. Attached is the photo of the tiny slaw and desert- we were starving and the baio bun was...
Read moreWe had high expectations and really looked forward to try this place, two things that really bothered us. 1- terrible service, the waitress notify us the kitchen ran out of rice for the Poke bowl (at an Asian restaurant, what) and it would be a half hour wait. We said ok fine we will wait, then when the poke bowl came, it was served without rice! Why would the kitchen send out a half finished dish?! When confronted with the waitress, the chief said it would take 2.5 hours to soak the rice (not sure which type of rice requires this?!). So in the end we took the poke bowl home so we can cook the rice ourselves. The staff were nonchalant about it until we expressed our disappointment. Then they took the dish off the tab. 2- Uncertain closing hours, when we called to book a table the waitress told us the kitchen close at 8pm and the restaurant at 9pm. However at 8:19pm, half way through our dinner, the waiters started putting up the chairs and cleaning the floors, there were other people in the restaurant. It made us feel extremely unwelcomed, we left as quickly as we could. The other dishes was so-so as well, the cauliflower was very mushy. I haven't such terrible restaurant experience in Christchurch for a long time, we will not be...
Read moreUnfortunately, it was too good to be true. What started off as the best fried chicken both my fiancé and I have ever eaten. With the rest of the food tasting equally divine, we were unfortunately let down by the service. With our reservation at 6:30pm, and order in by 6:45pm. I unfortunately after an hour and a half (8:10pm) decided that it was too late to carry on waiting and went to sort the bill and leave. When I got to the counter I told them in a polite manner that I’d been waiting an hour and a half for the food and that we are just going to leave instead. They said it’s coming now, I said I’ll just get it take away. They packed it in a take away bag and I paid for the complete order, I did mention to the reception staff (after paying) that I was temped to not even pay for that part of the meal, to which they replied I probably good have taken that off the bill. Which I then replied well I guess it’s too late now. And proceeded to leave. Unfortunately...
