Coriander's Bush Inn — Restaurant in Christchurch

29/05/2020 - My first lunch outing with a friend after the level 4 lock down and my first curry after 2 months. I've ordered the lunch special; lamb rogan josh with standard Naan for NZD $15. You can get/ upgrade to garlic Naan for $1. You can choose the curry spiciness level and I chose "hot". However, it was not spicy hot (mild spiciness compared to my previous visit) and I was slightly disappointed 😑.

The taste is pretty good; the sauce is thick (creamy) and full of flavour. It goes very well with garlic Naan.

Would I go back? Yes. Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. It was yummy and delicious 😋. Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. The place receives plenty of sun light. Well lit. Price: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Slightly pricier compare to other Indian eateries for their lunch.

5/7/2018 - Dinner with family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧. We ordered Tandoori lamb chops (strongly recommended - delish 😋), mango sorbets, lamb kadai, fish curry and butter chicken with 3 pieces of garlic naan.

The lamb kadai was unique taste as it consists of cumin, tandoori and buttery flavours.

As for the fish curry, they make one of the best fish curries in Christchurch.

All the dishes were yummy and delicious 😋. We enjoyed the dinner very much 🤗😁. Good customer service and friendly staff 👍.

Would I go back? Yes ☺. I strongly recommend it. For those who can eat spicy curries, I recommend that you to choose medium hot or a notch higher but not Indian hot (that will burn your tongue and you won't able to enjoy the curries).

Food is between OK to good , I like their entree, the chicken was very tendered unlike some other places it can be quite dried. The prawns are big and really fresh too, we had prawns in platter and one of the curry. Also tried their stuffed naan, very tasty too. However, the customer service is disappointing. We got there at 5.15pm asked for a table for 4 adults and 1 toddler with high chair. We were first given a 4 seats table, the waiter wanted to squeeze the high chair on one side of the table between the 2 seats. When asked to put the high chair on the shorter side of the table, he said it'll block the table nearby, even though there's literally no one in the restaurant apart from us, but OK, so we asked to be seated on a 5 seats table. He then said, that's a 5seats table! What is the problem with 4 adults with 1 toddler needing a 5 seats table? Especially when there's literally NO ONE else in the restaurant. We were given the 5 seats table in the end, and there were no other tables in the restaurant before we finished our meals and left. We didn't feel welcome by the first waiter at all, he gave bad impression about the place. I rated it a three stars instead of one, because the later waiter and waitress who served our meals were nice. The quality of your staff is too wide ranging, it's time to...

My partner & I came to Corianders Bush Inn tonight for Dinner & this was the best curry & service we have ever experienced! Both of our curries were perfectly cooked & so flavourful & naan was so buttery & soft! We moved to Christchurch hoping to find our next favourite Indian Restaurant and Corianders Bush Inn is the place!

The owner is so lovely, he made us feel welcomed from the very beginning. He made the experience so special and took care of us so well ensuring we were treated with the same care he gives his restaurant. The first time we went to Corianders Bush Inn we only got naan to take home, so tonight was the first time we tried their curry. Upon arriving he remembered our faces instantly which made my heart warm. Although they were going to close soon, he insisted that we stay and dine in which was so kind! He didn’t rush us at all & they patiently waited for us to finish even though we finished eating after their closing time. This service is something that I have never seen before!

We’ve both walked away from dinner tonight with satisfied full stomachs and overfilled hearts because of the service, food & overall experience. We can’t wait to recommend this place to our friends & family! Thanks again Corianders Bush Inn family, we cannot wait...
