Hi, Just to let you know that I am a regular customer for Corriander Restaurant, Sumner Christchurch since last 1 year. I always feel proud to suggest Corriander Restaurant to my office colleagues and friends. However, today I visited the restaurant with my wife & friends and honestly my experience was pathetic.
The Manager on Duty named Ms. Kajal was so rude and she not even know how to handle customer and genuine complaints by looking at the situation and feedback. We always visit this restaurant to enjoy lovely food and starters once in a month. However, today the Tandoori Mushroom was not upto the mark as we ordered the Indian hot spicy level but it was totally flat in taste. In mains, we ordered Dal Makhni and Kadai Paneer. Kadai Paneer was some how fine in taste but while eating Dal Makhni, we got some raw stuff/ stone. If it’s only for me I can understand but me and wife both got the same stone kind of hard stuff which was like a stone. We left the Dal Makhni and rice as it is and same thing was informed to Manager on Duty Ms. Kajal. However, instead of apologising she straight away charged us for Dal Makhni. She not even ask anything further about it. When we asked her to show the bill, she went to kitchen and told us we are making a new one for you. Which I believe not a correct way to handle complaints. I personally worked i hospitality industry for 16 years and trust me this is not way how hospitality people handle their customers. Rest over to the owner of this Restaurant Mr. Gaurav Soni, how to train the staff specially in case of handling genuine complaints?
Thanks...
Read moreTerrible food, guy serving food was eating while serving ... naanbreads like supermarket sandwich breads not crispy at all. Butter Chicken feels like only tomato puree... won't recommend,
I had to edit this further looking at their reply, so we had the food because we don't disrespect food by rejecting it. Obviously won't return after ordered, but I am free to post how I felt about food, which is genuine after working in the same industry for years and after tasting indian food all across new zealand, reviews are for improvement for ur business and potential customers help, if you start accusing of people eating then no one will visit ur place. Atleast we haven't and won't. How about ur customer service eating while serving food??? No comments? Only curry was good was kadayi paneer, butter chicken was tomato puree only and floppy dead naans. If you carry on with these things then good luck that's...
Read moreOur family is Canadian, but Indian is one of our favourite cuisines. As such we tend to try a lot of Indian places as we travel. This place is really one of the better ones we’ve been to. The food is so good. Though we are shocked at the prices, that’s just NZ period.
I wish Indian food was better value, as we always find that though the food taste and quality is top notch (usually) the value in general is not. Had we not gone as First Table diners, the bill would have been $230 for 3 of us… that’s over $70/person.
Having run a fast food restaurant for 20 years I know a bit about this. Lower your prices or give more generous portions, and watch sales climb. There are four cornerstones of a great business: Great Location, Great Product, Great Service, and Great Value. I find that most Indian restaurants have 3 of the four. But seriously, if you like Indian food, you’ll...
