8 people for lunch. Table easy to get as we arrived just before the lunch rush. Most drinks arrived promptly after ordering but 2 others took ages and required us to prompt the wait staff. Food arrived in good time. Overall we ordered the French toast, sea food chowder, eggs bene with bacon, hash brown stack, and the big brekkie. My dad raves about the chowder and he gives this a solid 10/10 each time - he goes back just for that. Eggs Bene was good - all meals with eggs had the poached eggs cooked perfectly with great ooze factor. The weirdest dish was the hash brown stack. The hummus that came with it was just weird and not enjoyed by anyone who had a taste. The hash browns, which were also in the big brekkie, were a little odd too. Maybe they had been cooked earlier and just kept warm...

I have been a long-time customer of Scarborough Fare. The coffee and scones (date and cheese) are excellent. The view to Scarborough and ocean is fabulous! A pleasant walk alongside the esplanade too.

However, on my visit today, we found the whole covered eating area to be filled with dogs. Large and small. Some sitting on chairs beside their owners, licking the tables. The space is limited here and allowing so many dogs in here creates an unpleasant atmosphere and smell. The number of dogs makes this area difficult for some people with mobility issues to access.

My suggestion to the owners would be to restrict the dogs to the picnic table areas immediately outside the Cafe, and keep the covered area for...

An unique place , definitely not for the plain eater. Plenty of choice for the breakfast menu. A little disappointed with the food, but this could be a personal choice. My husband felt we could do better at home with the French toast, he felt there was far to much cinnamon, the meal was small, . The Vege stack was present well. But again far to much flavour, and to many together . The pesto had far to much lemon in it/to acidic, the feta, I think it was must of had at least five cloves of garlic in it. ( slight embellishment) Coffee was great. Overall we would come back again snd again. Service was very prompt ,and restaurant full. Staff were a credit to...

Such a great little spot right at the end of the beach — the only cafĂ© around, which makes it the perfect place to stop after a long hot walk. The views are beautiful, the atmosphere is lively, and it’s pet-friendly, which is fantastic to see. It can get very busy (a sign of its popularity!), and while the food and drink menu is on the simple side, it’s a relaxing place to recharge and enjoy the sea breeze. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

The most expensive poorly overcooked seafood platter ever. $21 for this lot and to be honest. Portion being extremely small for the price. As you can see in the photo alsmot everything was deep fried for too long. Wedges of lemon given was so dry it can be jerky...
