Totally Gluten Free Bakery — Restaurant in Christchurch

4 pm on the 19th June called in to buy another late lunch on way to Blenheim. Added a spinach swirl loaf. These are usually yummy. Unfortunately selling me a loaf marked best before 20th, late on the end of the 19th is pretty poor. The person serving took it out from the serving counter so would have known it’s Best before date, and should have asked If I wanted it. I didn’t realize till I was on the road, and thought I would have a piece of this loaf. Usually these are soft, but this was rock hard. I was not impressed and I was not anywhere near to Cashmere!!!!

So I had to alter my post from an earlier time to let this business know. Consistency of product quality keeps customers coming back!

Unfortunately I didn’t end up purchasing anything as the service was not very helpful. I went in and planned to buy so much as I could wait to try a totally gluten free bakery. However at the register, my partners card wasn’t working. So I tried mine, still not working although we both had money. She told us that the payWave/credit function doesn’t work! So I couldn’t use my travel card, as you press the credit function to use it internationally. She told me I could bank transfer but that might not work internationally either. Only at the very end she said I could drive to a fuel station to get cash. The whole time she didn’t smile once and honestly seemed like she was just annoyed at me. I didn’t end up getting anything and she just shrugged her shoulder and didn’t seem to care anyway.

Got a carrot cake with lemon cream cheese icing from the Totally Gluten Free Bakery team for my partners birthday. I'd never had anything from here before, so it would be fair to say I felt like I was taking a punt.

It was delicious - moist and tasty with delicious icing. Partner was stoked, and our friends and fam kept commenting on how yum it was. Somehow we had leftovers, and the kept very well for a few days in the fridge till we finished it off.

Thanks to the team - really appreciate it - will make sure to 'ooh and aah' at our next cake, cos we'll def be back.
