Arigato Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

Overall the service, atmosphere is good, However I do have a couple of criticisms of the food on the night. Gyoza, prefer mine cooked traditional in a pan, fry and steam. NOT deep fried. My wife had the salmon box I had that eel box . In both cases the fish had been "drowned"!! in far too much sauce which ruined the fish because all you could taste was the sauce. I / we have dined at Arigato a number of times, and will probably go again.

🍤 The prawn and vegetable tempuras are delicious! Everything tasted very fresh. 🍣 The sashimi platter had a variety of 3 types of fish, although slices were on the thinner side. 🍱 The teriyaki eel and salmon were nice, although the portions were quite small despite prices of bento sets being in the upper $20s range. It was balanced with lots of tempura in each set.
