This restaurant is located in Hamilton East. I took my family for a quick bite to eat for lunch. The menu and the door stated: “ALL VEGE AND NON VEGE” curry with Rice and naan Bread with a drink for $10.00. Seeing that I was in a hurry, we decided to order 3 serves. The waitress came out to take the order. We tried to order 1 lamb and 2 curry. She told us the lamb was not part of the deal. I accepted her comment and agreed to order 3 chicken, then she went on to remind me that only certain chicken was on special. I went on to order. During the meal, we pondered on her comment about “ certain chicken”. At the end of the meal, when I went to pay the bill, I tried to provide her a feedback about the advertisement outside and that it needed to be changed as the board didn’t say chicken only and nor did it say certain chicken. She immediately went on a defence and told me that i had to pay $42.50 irrespective of the advert outside. At this point, I explained to her that it’s a customer’s progrative to advise the establishment of misleading advertising. I also expressed my concern that she was not listening to the principle. I then asked her to call the manager so that I can explain to him. She started abusing instead and I told her that I was going to sit outside and she had the option to call the cops or the owner. She instead told me to call the cops and she was not going to call the owner.
I had enough of her and in my stern voice I told her that I will walk out without paying if she was going to keep abusing me and she has the choice to call the cops on me. In her defence, she accused me of mental torture. I was blown away at her comment.
Upon hearing the commotion at the front counter, the chef came out and asked me what was my concern was. I calmly took him outside showed him the advertising board and explained my predicament. Instantly he realised the error and went inside and asked the lady to charge me $30.00. She refused and told the chef that to get back in the kitchen. The chef urged her to close the transaction.
In the end I lost me cool and told her in no certain terms that I will not pay anything and happy to walk out and she can call the cops.
She backed off ....
What an experience.... it’s a sad indictment on this establishment to have someone like her at the front end of the restaurant.
Food was...
Read moreWorst place to order food from. Yesterday I ordered kadai paneer, and I received a watery masshed potato kind of gravy with no flavors with cheese cubes and capsicum. First time I ate that kind of kadai paneer, seemed like they were finish with the curry, and just added water to complete the order. Better tell customer if any specific item is finished so they can order something else, instead of compromising with someone's food, because we are not compromising with food charges. So be honest atleast!!! I will not order from there again, and recommend all to not go there and...
Read moreI tried out this hidden wee gem a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. The Naan was delicious and fresh, the butter chicken sauce was different to others I had tried. It was soupier in texture, sweeter too. I got about 6 good sized chunks of chicken and they were beautifully cooked. A couple more would have felt like a better portion of chicken. The sauce to chicken ratio was heavenly and the naan bread soaked up the excess. Rice was good and amazingly they had diet lemonade which is unusual in these places but especially noteworthy if you have diabetic people...
