Would definitely be back in a heartbeat. Amazingly priced vegan menu with tacos, burgers, chips and other sides, shakes, fridge drinks like juice & fizz, and theeee most scrumptious donuts! We ordered: BBQ burger Rosie burger fries w/aioli biscoff shake banana split shake donuts (cookies and cream, passionfruit, jelly tip, strawberry creme filled, toffee pop, and standard cream donut) 2x bottled fizz from the fridge
The wait wasn't long (about 10-15 minutes) and we were fortunate enough to get in before a rush of customers came through. In saying that, we ordered takeaway but couldn't wait to inhale the lot of it and we saw reasonable turnarounds for orders while eating.
Mealwise we could not fault a thing. A. Single. Thing. Fresh ingredients and great flavouring in the burgers, shakes were good to drink in one go, and of course the donuts give everywhere else a run for their money (I'm looking at you mamas). Dark chocolate is used and used well! Would you also believe their cream is made with chickpeas? Couldn't tell the difference!
If you want somewhere cute, funky, and deliciously vegan to make it rain with your wallet, I highly recommend here. Cute little seating areas, tiny but tidy. Sheltered outdoor seating. Bring your non vegan friends too, they can get amongst and be just as impressed, no word of a lie. Only took some photos but let's hope they...

Best vegan doughnut (apple fritter) Best vegan burger (Rosie burger) Best vegan mac & cheese bites
And I can only award these (fictitious, but personally meaningful) awards because I didn't try the rest of the menu, which I suspect would also be the best thing I've ever eaten.
I've eaten vegan burgers all over New Zealand. Portershed in Christchurch (excellent), Burger Plant in Dunedin (great). This place blows them out of the water. Is that subjective? Yes. Is it my absolute truth now? Also yes.
I have also been longing for good vegan doughnuts in the last few years as we've transitioned to eating fully vegan, and these hit. the. spot. The apple fritter doughnut was perfectly spiced (a dash of cinnamon) and had a great ratio of apple pieces to the doughnut. I was worried the dough for the doughnuts might be dry or lacking flavor - but this was an unfounded fear, as they are absolutely delightful.
Mac & cheese? Forget about it. Nobody makes a good vegan mac & cheese. Well, Hello Rosie fixed that, too. They're creamy and herby and salty. The crust is crispy perfection.
Is there anything these people can't do? Maybe give them the task of organising...
Read moreI've followed Hello Rosie for so long and only just tried the food whilst on holiday in NZ.
We travelled to Hamilton from Rotorua for the Black Ferns game. Arrived right at opening time, so there was no wait to be served. (I'm glad we got there early because some donuts were sold out by the time we left)
All the food we had was AMAZING and with everything being vegan, we could order anything from the menu.
We ordered eat-in as well as takeaway.
Eat-in: Dinner Box Mac & Cheese Bites Cheeseburger fries All were amazing flavours and quick service.
Takeaway: Chickun Tacos Dinner Box All the donuts, cakes, sweets We ate the donuts during the same day and the next day. They were all so delicious but my favourite was the toffee pop!!! We ate the tacos and dinner box at home when we got back to Rotorua. Heated up nicely in the oven and still tasted AMAZING!!!
Staff were super friendly and didn't feel like we were being rushed when ordering because we couldn't decide what we wanted.
Recommend that if you want to try all the sweets, get in early because they sold out so quickly.
I'll definitely be back one day. Thanks...
