富豪酒楼 Regal Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Hamilton

We visited this place last week and it was absolutely lovely experience, I came with my friends from China, delicious food and good service👌👌👌 but today, OMG, it was so dissatisfied and absolutely not polite, the lady tried to sell me more than I wanted and ordered, I don't like so pushing service but it's all right.... I've asked to change one Yam Cha side, just to replace prawns on the Tofu, because I ordered tosts but I've confused a bit and asked to change it, I just didn't know exactly what was the meal is and was shy to ask, because the waiter wasn't friendly enough... The side wasn't touched and I expected that it can be changed with no any problems, but it wasn't, It would take only a couple of minutes to change this small thing, I didn't ask something incredible, only that... Hope they will improve their approach to the customers, because food actually is very good here👍 P. S. I was here not first time and before we always had an excellent service when I came with my friends from China... And this time I was in so good mood and wanted to enjoy my visit but I've confused a bit...I only asked to replace bread and tofy, I know exactly that it is not hard at all,it doesn't cost much for the restaurant... you guys could use the same prawns and put in on the Tofu instead bread, I expected kind attitude but didn't get it... so we didn't touch any food and just left because your service hurted me and I apologise that I didn't pay but nothing was touched and I would like to remind you, that when I came before order and during service the waiter tried to sell me more and more, i accepted that as a rather rude behaviour.. And I was sure that you appreciate your customers much more... Sorry about that anyway, but I hope I explained everything, my actions was caused only by your attitude. It is sad for me to see that a restaurant with so delicious food can't provide the...

Yum Cha - the authentic Canton cuisine. Another great discovery.

My wife had a short conference at Hamilton, and we decided to have a date. It has been a long time since I brought her for a good authentic Chinese cuisin, and both of us loved Dim Sum (点心) a touch of heart and I want to touch her heart through her mouth.

I explored the night before and found this place Regal Chinese Restaurant (富豪- literally means rich man) to Yum Cha (饮茶 - drink tea) Of course, we need delicious Dim Sum to go with the tea. The reviews were not outstanding, but when we were welcomed by friendly waitresses and the ambience was very Cheena, we felt at home right away. In fact, the very success of a Chinese restaurant is to have a good chef. And I found out that he is from Canton. Canton cuisine is, to me, one of the most meticulous and uncompromising cuisines. That's why it is so delicious.

The menu has so many items and we picked a few that we both like. E.g. Phoenix Crawl, (百合酱凤爪) Siew Mai, (烧卖) Chee Cheong Fun or Fun Cheong,(鲜虾肠粉) Salted Water Dumplings, (咸水角) and Lo Mai Gai (瑶柱糯米鸡)

Our favourite of the day is really the Chee Cheong Fun or Fun Cheong,(鲜虾肠粉) and Siew Mai, (烧卖). The Fun Cheong is wrap with a steamed skin, soft and flavourful sauce. But when we took the first bite... my goodness, there is another layer of skin with is deep fried and crispy. Amazing skin within a skin. What a gastronomical pleasure when the softness and crunch mixed in union, it is unprecedented!

Then when I took my first bite at the the Siew Mai, my literal expression is... woah! The Prawn is very fresh and the Pork is tender. A wonderful Q feeling when chewing the Siew Mai.

This is definitely a destination for my family, friends, and for anyone who will visit us in NZ. They know...

If you're seeking the epitome of terrible service and a dumpling garnished with a strand of someone else's hair, this is the place to visit. I chose to bring my family here for a late lunch to introduce them to the Chinese food culture of yamcha. Despite having a great time previously with friends, this visit turned sour. I encountered a frustrating situation when I requested a spoon for my fried rice, as using chopsticks proved challenging. The manager's response insinuating that spoons were unnecessary with chopsticks left my family and me upset. Despite our frustration, I tried to salvage the meal for my family. However, the experience hit a new low when I discovered a thick hair in one of the dumplings. Despite informing the manager and receiving a replacement, no one offered an apology. Despite my dwindling appetite, I endured the meal to avoid spoiling my family's lunch. Upon payment, the manager covered the bill but only muttered a half-hearted apology when handing me the receipt. When I questioned him about the lack of a sincere apology for finding hair in my food, he seemed indifferent. His nonchalant demeanor prompted my sister to assertively state, 'Hair.' The manager's insincere 'sorry about that' only fueled my frustration, leading me to leave the establishment. This experience, marked by the worst service and an unsettling discovery in my meal, ensures I won't be returning, and I feel compelled to warn others about this disappointing...
