One of the kind in Hamilton. Plenty Sushi Train, Daruma etc in Auckland, but this site is the first in Hamilton. Nice, clean tidy interior. Very yummy sushi and lots of dishes to choose from. Price for each plate will depend on the colour of the plates. If you don't want sushi, then there are plenty other items to choose from the menu. Bento boxes, kids menu, a la cart etc. We ordered Korean fried chicken from the menu, but it turned out to be more like chicken bites so we were disappointed. Proper and traditional Korean fried chicken should be crioy and come with bones. So in that sense, that dish was very expensive if not misleading (see attached photo) . Parking is a nightmare at the front but plenty parking on nearby streets if you don't mind a bit of walk. The chefs are hard working and very fast in replenishing the empty spaces on conveyor belt. A range of sitting arrangement are available. Table for 4, table for 2 or Bar like Sitting where one sits next to another. . High chairs are available. But we noticed the staff did not wipe it down after used by the previous customer and before it was put away. So it is literally dirty by the time the next baby/child comes along and use it. Seats are limited if you visit during peak hours. Waiting staff need more training! They seem to be gathering around the far corner most of the time and becomes reactive. Customer service can be improved when staff proactively roaming around and actively offer assistance to customers who need them. Not all staff are familiar with the cashier computer system so it resulted a queue of customers waiting to pay and staff started to panic under pressure. Also they constantly playing Korean pop music. But if you don't mind the imperfections mentioned above and you are after yummy sushi and the novalty of sushi plates on a conveyor belt, then this is a must visit for you. You will...
Read more3rd time for lunch, first time to order Sashimi set...THIS IS IT. We had been looking for this fresh and decent price sashimi option, finally we met them.
Sashimi set was surprisingly big potion for at 2people and it was fresh, tasty. Aburi Salmon has ponzu (japanese citrus based sauce) . Oridinaly it had includes some oysters, but we asked a staff whether we could change any option, then they kindly served extra piece of each sashimi instead of the oysters. We really appreciate it :)
Also we enjoyed some korean fried chicken...which is nice since we can eat japanese sushi and korean meal at the same time!
They have a wide menu so we highly recommend that you should talke a look the menu on a table, not only sushi on train. ( For example...Ramen, Okonomiyaki, Tempra..etc)
Staff are friendly and kind, sushi is fresh and really good price. We are really happy to have this kind of option that could eat fresh sashimi casualy and we would like to support them as much as possible. See you soon...
Read moreIts an okay experience. Had some tasty options and variety on the train, but some things fell short. Chicken that should have been crispy had soft/soggy batter and was a bit over cooked. Definitely recommend ordering the hot food off the menu if you go for any of the crispy/ chicken options. Dessert options were alright also. Grilled Salmon Nigiri was the highlight for me, melts in your mouth and a generous dollop of kewpie on top 😋!
Biggest let down was the music and how loud it was. I'm in my early 20's and even I found the volume too high. Hard to have a conversation especially closer to the speakers. Music was more like what you would hear in a club/ high energy party kinda atmosphere but in 2017. Cant go wrong with a bit of k-pop or j-pop, or even lo-fi music, but that's just the vibe i'm personally looking for in a...
