Sisterfields Hamilton — Restaurant in Hamilton

We ordered one of each of the sharing platters. Meat, Seafood and vege.

We also ordered seafood chowder and Arancini. 3 adults 3 kids.

We over ordered as the kids said they were hungry and the amount of food was very good.

The food was good mostly but a few few simple things let them down.

The Arancini were good but the sauce they came in was so sweet even my kids complained about how sweet it was and refused to eat it. It was not good.

The seafood chowder tasted good at first and had good content but again even my kids complained it was too salty and stopped eating it. I like salty but it was too much.

The vege plate was good mostly, though it was all fried food with not many actual veges.

The meat plate probably had too many ribs to other food in the ratio. Good if you want mostly ribs. It had a small bit of steak which was cooked well done or beyond. Everything else on the late was decent.

The seafood plate is fish and chips level seafood. Think prawn cutlets, crabsticks and fishbites.

Not too bad here, it came with a few muscles in the shell that were cooked probably twice as long as they needed to be. I spat one out, it didn't taste overly fresh, could have been because they were overcooked.

All all not too bad. I would say the consistency wasn't there, some foods were over cooked/in the frier too long.

Would definitely not recommend for a function. Sisterfields was a lovely venue with a good space for 50 people. We had a set menu and pre-ordered our meals to make it easier for the staff. Meal sizes were inconsistent. We had some meals that were literally meat with three small potatoes. Those that ordered chicken, some people got two pieces of chicken and some people got one piece with there three potatoes. However if you ordered ribs you got a big plate of ribs, chips and a salad. Meals came out so slowly that we were eating separately. Our function started at 5 pm and we had to go and ask at 9pm if dessert was going to be served as it was taking so long only to find the staff arguing amongst themselves. I came here today evening with a couple of friends as you guys have quite a good rating on . And we ordered some food which was amazing but unfortunately the service was pathetic as the guy who was working in the bar who served us was in so much hurry that he did not tell us the fish when asked and was quiet untidy as he was sweating and smelly . And we kept on waiting for our drinks to come while he vanished somewhere . But luckily we were saved by the very smiley face girl which came to us explained us everything on the menu and got our drinks right away and apologised for that guy’s unprofessionalism. As it was my birthday overall it went quiet upsetting😔 but I really appreciate the girl with the smile who saved the sinking ship .
