Banh Mi Caphe — Restaurant in Hamilton

Food; we ordered the vegan pancakes and the vegan spring rolls as well as the pork spring rolls and the mussels, with the coconut sauce and the Vietnamese soup and Vietnamese spring rolls and pork belly.

All of the food served was hot, fast, delicious, fresh, and tasty. I cannot fault the food it was excellent.

Friendliness; Friendly wait staff.

Service; good waitress, attention to menu and always recommending beer, recommending dessert, recommending specials for the day.

Value for money; for 100 to 110 we ordered 7 meals to share between 4 people. We all enjoyed the food and walked away feeling sustained rather than a heavy bloating sort of feeling that you get from eating heavy foods.

X-factor; standout was the pork belly and the mussels and the spring rolls and the soft shell crab rolls. In all fairness everything we sampled were excellent.

A let down in all aspects. Having been a big fan of Banh Mi in its location on Victoria St (and a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine in general) it was one of the Hamilton restaurants I was excited to eat at again after a few years overseas. Unfortunately the focus for Banh Mi has shifted from quality traditional vietnamese favourites to fusion fine dining at the expense of flavour. The Pho broth is now very light in flavour, very poorly developed, the beef is cut too thick and clearly cooked prior to serving. I'd think if the restaurant had changed focus to an upscale vibe it would be reflected in the service, however they staff were very inattentive. Including when I noted to the waiter that my broth was weak in flavour and he said he'd have the chef taste it and get back to me, unfortunately he took 25 minutes to get back to me... it was clear there was no interest in providing a good experience. I think they're resting on their laurels. I hope to see...

Impeccable, fresh, delicious food - cooked to perfection every time.

Impeccable decor, stunning resturant, great music at the perfect volume. The ambience is incredible - even the restrooms are gorgeous.

Impeccable staff. Professional to the highest standard. Great sense of humour and very attentive - not a single notepad in sight!

If you want a first class dining experience Banh Mi Caphe is the place to go. Absolutely fabulous, entirely faultless.
