Had breakfast here this morning, so disappointing… ordered the “salmon and capers” for $17.50 and added a poached egg for an extra $3, along with scrambled eggs and toast for my daughter. Spent $28 total. What came out were 2 tiny strips of salmon (which hardly covered both bagels) 3x capers (the 3 green dots on the left side are some sort of pesto sauce drops), I asked the waitress if this was all the salmon they served it with to which she basically replied “yes”… I just can’t believe they charge $17.50 for this, an absolute rip off! This is a meal I’ll often get at cafes and I have never seen it served like this. I then told a 2nd girl at the counter how disappointed I was with my meal, I will never write a negative review without first giving my feedback and giving the business a chance to remediate the situation, unfortunately the 2nd girl I spoke to didn’t seem to care at all and had an attitude as well, this is the 2nd time I’ve come here, my first experience was average too but decided to give them a 2nd chance. After today I would never recommend this place to anyone. So overpriced for stingy...
Read moreHi, Condescending treatment of server at Robert Harris Westgate. Every day, people of colour get treated a certain way because of our skin colour. A brief visit to your coffee shop ended in great disappointment and anger. If you place an order and the person who takes it gives you a number, you sit or stand and wait for your order. A server comes out with half of your order and I say, 'I actually want to take it out.' She says in a very condescending way, 'Well, you have a number, so it means you are eating here.' She takes the plates, not happy, and goes and puts them in a box, discussing it with another server who sneakily looks in my direction. The pies are placed on the table with not a smile. I said, 'I also ordered fries.' She leaves and almost throws the fries at me. It needs to stop. Educate your servers about treating people with respect. Working at a young age is actually working on your CV in the future. If you are given positive feedback, it will stand you in good stead. This young worker needs to be guided. You might be serving your future boss in...
Read moreI came in for brunch with my friends on a Saturday morning. The place was quite busy but the line at the cashier was short. I have been to other Robert Harris before so I know I will always get good food. My friend ordered peach iced tea and really enjoyed it. She was almost finished with her drink when she noticed there was a big black ant in her drink. She returned the drink to the staff and the staff just said 'eww' and threw the drink away. When my friend went back to our table we asked if she was offered to get her drink replaced. She said nothing of the sort was said. We must have talked about it too much and too loudly that eventually another staff approached us and asked my friend about her drink. The staff then asked my friend if she wanted a new drink or a refund so my friend said a refund. The staff refunded her and apologised. We told the staff we appreciate her gesture. It was a good save. Appreciate that staff for her very good approach. I loved my bacon and egg...
