Ordered some takeaway on Saturday afternoon, of course we had to put everything on little plates to feel fancy — pre COVID vibes when we used to be able to go to sushi trains🥲 My family and I have been long time regulars for this Japanese Korean restaurant and we’ve pretty much tried everything on the menu. We ordered quite a bit this time too but everyone had already dug in so only have just the one photo, the struggles of being a wanna be foodie!
Unfortunately, iPhone X camera qual is a bit outdated now in 2021 — so I don’t think it’s quite captured how premium and clean and fresh the nigiri and sushi was. I could eat this stuff every day 3x a day, a true Asian at heart for real and you can count on Sushi Tomi for being consistently excellent. The karaage chicken is always juicy, the batter on the outside crispy, it just tastes so so good and we’re all obsessed. You can’t go wrong with some good tempura, which it was - actually one of the best and I unashamedly as a Korean eat Japanese much more than I should. The udon is also super delish, the rice dishes (donburi) also are so good I’d make them as lunchboxes for my future husband to take to work daily, and lastly, can’t go wrong with a salad and they do theirs well: super refreshing and such a good palate cleanser. I think that’s all we got from what I can recall. I also just want to add the woman who served us on Saturday during the day was super lovely and really wonderful and helpful.
Honestly, I’m just psyched we have a good Japanese place out west with good food and good service since I can’t live my life as I usually would with the fancy places in the city...
Read morebought prawn sushi 3 days ago and i’m literally sitting on the toilet writing this. DO NOT EAT THE FISH HERE.
Edit. Now that I am healed of my food poisoning i’m going to explain everything that happened and why under no circumstances you should eat the fish here. Last week I bought lunch here, crispy prawn, crispy prawn SUSHI (remember this) and avocado on a rice ball. I ate the crispy prawn and it was fine, so was the avocado but when I ate the sushi I looked at my boyfriend and said “this tastes really fishy” but maybe it’s just the fact that it’s fish. I went about my day, went home and then woke up to a full body fever and a stomach ache that was making my butthole burn with with every movement. This is food poisoning. Spearing the details but on the first day I went to the bathroom atleast 5 times. The next day my fever was gone but my stomach ache was not and at 3 am I was hunched over the toilet forcing out anything my body could find, i was so exhausted. The third day I was okay. NOT. I was still persistently blowing up my poor boyfriend’s toilet. Yesterday it finally left but my back was sore, my stomach muscles were in so much pain and I had an awful headache. Do not buy the prawn sushi from here unless you want to test your...
Read moreI wish I could rate lower stars! WORST JAPANESE I’ve ever had!!! Will NEVER be back again, rang up and placed an order for 2 chicken katsu Yokisoba which they told me they could do and a side of mix vege tempura. Got there and they had only made one dish and not chicken katsu only chicken they said they don’t do chicken katsu yokisoba so I asked if they could do another chicken and I get a chicken katsu on the side. Charged me $10 for the smallest chicken katsu side I’ve ever seen! Got home they missed out giving me the miso soup, the chicken yokisoba was not chicken it was beef (even though they argued on the phone they don’t do beef? But was deff beef), the mix vege tempura was all pumpkin in tempura even though they told me I was wrong as there was carrot and kumara as well (it was definitely ALL pumpkin). They are rude, Absolute rip off place $$, no apology other than I was wrong, food was flavourless and not tasty at all and the service was terrible!! Don’t waste your money at this...
