L-G Cafe — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

Had a Coffee Group meeting here with 6 other grans. They have different sized tables which is great..a couple outside as well. Seems to be a popular spot of the older generation as this day they were the lions share of the customers. Food is delicious, coffee is great, the servers are lovely and good at their jobs, service was good but they were very busy, could almost do with another person there, my only criticism is after we had more people arrive, we weren't offered any more water / glasses, or asked about orders - not sure if this is their way or if they were busy everywhere else, so ordering at the counter-only was our experience. Is very loud inside so we moved to the large outside table after a while. We asked for the umbrellas up but it was too windy apparently and they would have blown away - however on leaving the next group had them up fine.. perhaps we needed to erect those ourselves. Just x2 toilets x1 being the disabled one - watch the lock on this one, the lady explained it can look locked and occupied when it's in fact empty, which we found to be the case, after waiting several minutes. My son and I used to visit every Sunday when Lorna and Gary had this restaurant so were naturally saddened to see them go, and to find out - at that time - that the new owners were closed at the weekend. We were pleased to find they were now open and gave it a whirl: I always have Eggs Benedict (and you wouldn't believe the amount of places that can't seem to get the eggs right....), and they were perfect. Solid whites, runny yolks. I WOULD have liked to see that they were free range though. My son had The big Breakfast which really WAS a big breakfast - just think of everything you can, then add some! The new owners were delightful, didn't over hover (nothing worse) and were very friendly. Everything clean and water provided without asking. There was the occasional middle eastern touch which was interesting and very welcome....

I popped in for takeaway coffees and ordered a regular flat white and a piccolo. They were busy and the staff seemed a bit stressed, which is fair enough but when my coffees were called out the girl behind the counter said the wrong order and pointed to them for me. I double checked aa the cup sizes and milk quantities looked off. The barista was not very nice when I asked to ensure they were meant for me.
