The Archer is my husband's favourite restaurant so we have been here a few times. Never had anything negative to say until tonight. Dissapointed more than anything we ordered our meal everything was lovely other than my steak. I politely told the staff my steak was quite grissly and I couldn't even chew it properly. They offered me another piece I declined, they offered a tiramisu I declined. I just asked if they would discount my meal. I paid for the meal and asked for a receipt they cheekily had only given me a $2 discount. I had 3 bites of my steak and pretty much sent a whole piece of steak back to the kitchen. My meal was $45, so I asked the man why have I only been given a $2 discount his response was oh sorry my till didn't put your refund down correctly he then went away and came back and gave me $10. To be honest I'm a tad bit dissapointed technically I paid $35 for a few chips and a bowl of salad. As we walked out the man serving us walked out to the kitchen to see the chef as we walked past the kitchen door they were in there chuckling and stopped and looked away as soon as soon as my husband looked at him. Bit let down tonight team. Would of happily given a 5 star review for everything else if this...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience with the Owner of this establishment. Although the food is average but overpriced, that was not the issue. The owner is ultimately an incredibly rude person who makes excuses and blames the customer when he is in the wrong. When he overcharged and got our order wrong, he explicitly said, "I assume you know what you're ordering", and did not take responsibility for it at all; when we had ordered something cheap and got served something double the price. When he decided to pay the difference (2 dollars less still) he condescendingly made it seem like we were in the wrong, and tried to quickly rush us (a group of vulnerable young girls) out. Definitely seems like the restaurant needs a change in ownership to me. Never going back.
Edit (after response): You certainly don't realise that your interaction with us itself was the issue and not the wine issue at hand that was resolved. Do better. The fact that we had to get my father involved to be shown basic human decency from a consumer to provider aspect shows that you need to fix your attitude and service. Of course I will go to great lengths to let others know this is unfortunately okay restaurant is run by horrid ownership....
Read moreWell, where to start. What a disaster. I don't recommend this place at all. First off, the reservation couldn't be found, and then the table offered was for 5 people, not a party of 6. Also, when booked, I advised it was for 2 birthdays, and nothing was done for that. Also, I advised the booking that there was a huge tomato allergy. When we got to another table, it had no water, so I had to ask as only empty glasses. Staff didn't offer more water. We had to ask again. Staff eating own food behind counter. Kids weren't given pencils to color in the kids' menu, then i had to find them. The pencils were broken and couldn't color. When I ordered our meals, I personally asked for no tomato sauce on 3 of the meals as highly allergic. Meals arrived and had tomato sauce. Food was burnt and very overcooked, and it wasn't nice at all. Caesar Salad had far too much lettuce and not much anything else. Fish was just average. Beef burger overcooked. The only thing that was nice was the Kids Calamari and chips. Plates weren't cleared on time. Menu far too expensive. Went somewhere else for dessert as I didn't want to waste more money when we had already...
