PICADOR STEAK & CHARCOAL — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

Saturday 6/6/20 7pm booking. I was looking forward to this being a great local restaurant especially after being lockdown during coivd. Sadly the night was let down by really poor service, including both the waiting staff and meal quality. We had to ask for water glasses and then had to get them ourselves from the bar; i had to approach the waitress to ask for our order to be taken after sitting without even drinks orders being taken. My wife's meal turned up, it was the wrong order, we waited for the rest of the tables meals for 10 minutes before my wife approached the waiting staff. The staff member took the meal from my wife and then took the same meal to another table and gave it to another patron who was waiting. Her male companion had been served his meal and was waiting for her meal. Maybe this is okay prior to covid? Our meals turned up. The double lambshank was fantastic, my wife's correct order. My sister and her friend aged rump (medium rare). My sisters was over done but tasty, her friends was a perfect medium rare. My 500 gram T bone (ordered medium rare) was so over cooked to the point of being inedible, I took it back and it was replaced with another Tbone that was seared with the middle being raw. I think the term is blue. I took this back and they put the same steak on the grill and re served it to me. It came back overcooked but by this stage I was so hungry I ate it. I was very disappointed and will not be going back although I really wanted this place to be great as we need a descent steakhouse on the coast. My sister and friend were more surprised by the fact they meal was not discounted at least. In my opinion three attempts at cooking steak is a bit poor for a steak house. Bit if a weird experience so there wasn't really any problems with the food but the rump steak that they had on promotion tonight was incredibly thick and fatty which usually I don't mind you're only paying 20 bucks so not high expectations but more so then usual rump and some got lodged down in my chest as it was very hard to chew and clearly swallowed too early then I began choking and couldn't breathe etc the staff didn't know what to do but luckily one waitress escorted me to the bathroom and helped tap my back until I managed to get it up which is going above and beyond when you're unsure what to do in that situation and I appreciate it but I'm amazed the guys working didn't step up and left her to do that she basically had to stand there while I threw up and my throat is still very sore from it they did offer me a glass of water after and were friendly asking if I was okay still thats not the point like it made me feel horrible but I'm just glad to be alive and beyond that it was a good experience overall but I'll never be back for that steak it's a step up from archers but I still struggled to finish it and I'm lucky it wasn't my last meal

Just replying to that weird reply but first off that's an absolute lie the other staff were all at the bar it's where I went to get a water after and I'm sorry but were you expecting 5 stars for that horrible cheap cut of steak that almost killed me because yeah no it put me off ever wanting to come back only reason you got 3 was because of how understanding and kind the staff were about it but even then that steak barely deserved one star it was awful and insanely tough and chewy hence I...

If all your looking for is a good steak, this is the place to go.... if your wanting a good time, with good service, and drinks.... in a reasonable time frame this is not the place to go.

Came here to celebrate my birthday with 5 other adults and 5 kids. Booked for 7pm, arrived around 6.50, it was 30 minutes before we had menus brought to the table, and another 10 minutes before we had our drink order taken... after we ASKED for it to be taken.

The drinks finally arrived another 20 minutes later and again we had to ask to order, and because of how long it took to get the drinks, we ordered another round then along with our food order. The food started to come out after another 20 minutes, and 10 minutes later after a single order drink was made and brought to the table immediately, we asked about the 2nd round of drinks, they eventually came another 10 minutes later.

At no point were we asked how we were going, if we needed anything etc, and at no point in the 2+ hours we were there did anything get cleared from the table.

Easily lost $200 in extra turnover from the delay in drinks orders, and not checking...
