Extremely disappointing service and hygiene. (NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!)

Upon entering the place, I noticed a very unsettling and fishy smell around the room. The tables were sticky and smelt like old fish and meat. The cups and tableware smelt like it hadn't seen the dishwasher in years. Regardless of the horrible first impressions of the restaurant we still gave it a chance. After 45 minutes of waiting our food still hasn't arrived. The waiters constantly avoided eye contact even if we tried to call them over they simply ignored us. One of the waiters finally approached us and told us that the "food will come shortly." So we waited for another 15 minutes and watched more bowls come by but not to our table. We then asked again and the waiter said that he will go check with the chef. He came back and told us that there was a "system error" and that our food wasn't being prepared at all. This infuriated me as I was on a tight schedule and was just trying to enjoy and nice lunch with my family before work. I feel like even giving 1 star is too kind for them. Even just sitting there was unpleasant due to the extremely disgusting smell in the restaurant. It really made me sick to my stomach. I would recommend to STAY AWAY from this so called restaurant and go to any other amazing places than this.

If any the waiters and cooks of the restaurant are reading this review this is a message for you. Please reconsider your job as a culinary chef and learn how to clean up your workspace. A dirty restaurant means a dirty chef you have no respect for your food and for the people that pay you to eat it. Hygiene is the upmost important factor in running a restaurant. Your place is a disgrace to Japanese cuisine and now I understand why the place is...

Absurd Service and Disappointing Food. The Wagyu steak don was not a Wagyu steak at all — just a few slices of beef so thin they were nearly transparent. The very few salmon pieces in the salad ramen wasn’t fresh either. The ramen noodles had so much starch that they tasted like starch the whole time and had a slippery, unpleasant texture. Most frustrating of all, I ordered a tonkotsu ramen with extra noodles, and they gave me a separate bowl of extra noodles without soup. But even before adding the extra noodles into my ramen, the portion of the soup was so little that there wasn’t enough to eat it properly. I mean ramen is a type of soup noodles isn’t it? When I asked for more broth, the staff gave me a look and he looked confused. He said he will go ask if that is possible and he took 15 minutes to come back and said it would cost $5 for HALF A BOWL of broth. The food and service quality were never like this before, which makes it even more disappointing to see this place deteriorate into one of the worst...

I came here with my family, and each of us ordered a different type of ramen, along with a sashimi platter to share. The sashimi was very fresh the thick-cut tuna, sweet shrimp, and salmon were all delicious, especially with a bit of wasabi on the side.

I had the Hell Ramen. The flavor was good, but personally, the spiciness didn’t quite reach the “sweat-dripping” level I was expecting from the name it was more of a mild heat that most people could enjoy. i think? The pork slices looked few at first, but they were actually quite thick and satisfying. The tofu was especially tasty soft, tender, and full of flavor. Definitely worth trying!

The staff were attentive and polite, even giving us a heads-up about the last call for extra orders. The restaurant was clean and had a...

Not many ramen choices on the North Shore so very delighted to see another one pop up! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a Japanese-vibe through the wooden walls and furniture. It was very busy when we went so had to wait for a good 25 minutes for our food to arrive but general service was good and being busy it was understandable. I had the tonkotsu ramen and for me it's probably the best one I've had in Auckland. The soup base is very rich and creamy and full of pork bone flavour. I do prefer it just a bit more saltier but thats just my personal preference. Perhaps a shoyu tonkotsu version would be ideal for people that like a bit more punch in the soup, like what Maruten Ramen offers. Overall, great food, great vibe, great service and great price 👍
