I enjoyed the service and the food was great, although when we parked out front and got out of the car to walk in a group of old men sitting outside the front of the store on the outdoor tables made me and my gay best friend very uncomfortable, they uttered some nasty words as we walked past. We ignored them and ordered, we mentioned to the server what had happened, she apologized which I thought was nice and that she shouldn't have to, and she just went outside to let them know not to do that. And all people from all walks of life are welcome at her business, They soon all stood up and left. I kinda felt bad for the men, but appreciated what she had done for us. I ordered the breakfast plate 4 strips bacon sausage 2 hash browns 1 toast 2 eggs any style came with butter and small dish of tomato sauce for $10.90 the best value in the area I had a coffee (with an extra shot at no charge ) with my meal and the timing was perfect. The shop specialises in tea so there is a large collection of teas available although the shop was busy the staff were friendly...

Popped into Coffee and Tea Lovers in Howick—big mistake. Ordered the mushrooms on toast, which turned out to be a soggy mess that tasted like regret and old dishwater.

To top it off, the coffee came out with the food. Nothing like sipping a flat white while wrestling mushroom slop on cardboard toast. Timing? Nonexistent. Flavour? Missing, presumed dead.
