Very disappointed and angry how the worker at Nando's Botany handled our situation (Unsure if he was the Manager or the Chef of Botany Nando's, he looked Indian - around 30). It was me & my partner's FIRST TIME ever eating Nando's. We ordered 2x Burgers, Fries & Half chicken for Take-away. We sat down waiting for our meal. The worker yelled out "Order for Lee". My partner & I thought he said "Order for Arpaneee" which the pronunciation of the names sounded similar to my partner's name & thought it was our order. So my partner collected the Take away. We walked out & sat outside the restaurant to eat. Anyways, once we opened the take away bag, it only had Chicken & Fries. I already started eating the fries. My partner looked at me & said "Hey, the staff has forgotten to put our burgers in our Take-away bag. My partner walked back in the Nando's to check on what happen to the burgers. The waiter started clarifying the name & order because we collected the wrong order ACCIDENTALLY!!! Anyways, the Chef or Manager of Nando's Botany started accusing my partner that we took the wrong order on purpose and accused that we knew the order was not ours so we still took it.
The wrong order had a Full chicken (which was sliced up) & Fries. He continued to keep accusing saying "Yous ordered only Burgers, Half chicken & Fries & we knew that we took the wrong order". And he started saying "We knew we ordered Half chicken but still took the wrong order which had a full chicken and fries" He was pretty much accusing and making up asumptions that we were trying to steal the wrong order! My partner apologized & explained it was a mistake & an accident, plus it was our first time eating at Nando's, we don't know how they served their meals in Take-away & also we did not touch or look at the full chicken properly in the take away bag. My partner was very Sorry. Anyways the Chef/or Manager started telling my partner we had to pay extra money for our mistake. As a partner, I had enough of my partner trying his best trying to explain what happen & that we were sorry. I got so angry of the Chef/or Manager of how he handled the situation. I full on screamed at him with bad anger explaining this was not our fault. It was clearly an accident/it was our first time eating at Nando's, did not know how they plate their take away meals. I did not like how he handled our situation with his accusations, judgment & assumptions. It was pointless arguing with him because he was so arrogant to listen & too hard to make a point with a person who has no maturity to see both views of the story. In furture, making sure this mistake does not happen in the restaurant. Yous should really give customers DOCKETS with the customer's name on it with their order on the docket for "Take-away meals". Once the order is cooked, the staff is responsible for making sure they recieve a docket from the customer, to make sure they have the correct name & order for the right customer. This reduces chances for confusion and mistakes in furture & arguements. Because look what had happen to us today. I am still angry about this!!!!! Not very happy at all. The other staff had great service but the Manager/or Chef of BOTANY NANDO'S. His attitude is clearly not right & demonstrated no leadership skills. Handling situation like this, it's a guarantee that customers will respond angrily like how I did. Handle what bad management has caused towards their innocent customers. Because customers will fight and argue what's right and wrong. What's worse is, this is our FIRST time eating at Nando's. Please, speak to that Manager/or Chef. Very terrible customer service. Handled...
Read moreReading through the reviews I am not surprised to see that Nando's Botany has a very low average rating!! Went for dinner today around 6pm. Staff member who took our order...brilliant👏👌but from there on our dinning experience was severely soured by a staff meeting happening at the adjacent table. A young employee was in, what appeared to be a disciplinary meeting. Present was, as later identified: shift manager, dressed in Nando's attire, another male in personal attire: the owner of Botany Nando's and a female dressed in personal attire identified as HR rep.
As my wife and I sat down the "manager" was addressing the young employee in a very aggressive manner with language that one would expect on a fishing trawler(apologies to all fishermen out there). We decided to shift to another table, but it was evident that these two males could not give two hoots about the clients sitting around them enjoying their dinner!! I approached them to let them I know that I thought the manner, place and timing of their meeting was totally inappropriate and unacceptable. The "manager" offered a flimsy apology however the "owner" leaned over and told me: "mate this a public space and we having a conversation". I told them that all indications were that they were having a meeting and all I wanted them to understand was that it was inappropriate to have such a meeting in such a public space or at least consider their patrons. I was stared down and again told by the "owner" that they were in a public space and as such was entitled to their conversation!!
Nando's will always be one of our favourite restaurants and I have supported Nando's Botany since it's opening, had good relationships with previous managers/owners and staff. But the display of these 2, especially the one identified as the owner has closed the doors of Nando's...
Read moreThe indian guy with the curly hair is really rude. Worked today 14/04 at around 15:00. We changed our table because the sun was in our face. We took our table number so that there is no confusion. 30 minutes later the guy delivers our meal to people who just walked in. Then he arrives with 3 plates, notices that we had already spoken to the other people and took our meals. They realised they didn't order what was placed on their table and told us we can take it. This guy just shoves 3 plates between my son and husband, mind you it was not requested. Then he places the table numbers back onto the table by slamming it on our table. He does not tell us anything, like, please dont move the table numbers next time. He goes mumbling to the people at the other table about switching table numbers. On our way out he slams the cupboards below the taps. Now, if we shouldn't of moved it, tell us. You don't need to be rude and slam things onto our table. Moreover your facial expression says you don't want to be there. We understand you are busy, you are short staffed. We waited patiently even though you guys missed my son's burger. We had to ask them where it is, then they gave it to us mid way through our meal. When customers are understanding, you need to check ypur attitude at the door before you start work. We cleaned our own table, we said nothing. You are very impolite and also remember you ate not doing us a favor. People can opt to eat elsewhere. Check your...
