I have been buying fish, and seafood at this place for over a year now.
There is a lovely guy, who assists with weighing fish and cutting them according to your preference.
I went in to shop today, first time on a weekday, it was not BUSY and the cashier (a she) who was in duty at 4.30pm was bluntly rude. I don’t want to address her nationality, this is the job of your management investigate based on the time and day.
I had a few bags at her counter, she works at a Fish Market and gave an unpleasant look while handling my bags of seafood.
I requested her to help me tie the bags upon scanning the prices which the usual girls over the weekend have helped me with when I shop over the without even being told, it’s basic as the seafood might spill over, and I was holding my big chiller bag.
“She told me NO, you tie it.”
This is not proper customer service, given I did not order her to do it, I requested her help.
I told her sorry if it’s too much of an ask and she responded if you go to Countdown none will do it for you, I responded the staffs elsewhere will help requested.
It was clear that the she found it unpleasant to touch the bags, the irony she’s working at a Fish Market.

I went inside and waited another 5-6 minutes as other customers numbers were called out but I was still waiting. I went to the main counter where you usually collect your order to ask what the hold up was. The pacific island girl told me I had to go to the other counter which had a line of like 8 people. By the time I got served I was told by the cashier to wait 2 minutes and he would be with me but never served me again. I waited over 35 minutes since the order was ready to receive my order; which was only a fish, fritter, crab stick and half a scoop of chips. When we arrived home the fish was off it was slushy in consistency and smelt really bad. Worst service and food I have had and fortunately for Oceanz Botany there is no zero star rating. I explained to the lady and showed her my legitimate mask exemption, and was bluntly and rudely told they don't accept them. I said these exemptions are provided from by the Government, but she told us to get out or she will call the cops. I will NEVER go back to such a disgusting place ever again. I have since been in contact with the owner of Oceanz, and he was very apologetic, and since that encounter he has gone to the staff and instructed them that mask exemptions are legitimate and to accept them when customers show them.
