Great service, friendly, aid back yet efficient. Great coffee and food. The venue is warm and there's easy parking outside. If using public transport, Coffee Lab is just a short walk from Wairau Valley Pak 'N Save supermarket and a bit further walk to Smales Farm Busway but you'll need an umbrella or a water proof hoodie if it"s raining. The toilets are clean and well kept. Coffee Lab distributes coffee to other cafes and bakeris and you can purchase beans, plunger or exspresso ground bags of their various coffee blends to take away from the cafe. The cafe is a very good conversion of a former factory.

This place is a GEM!!! We ordered filtered coffee and is was fruity and delicate and complex and delicious. A true experience. We also ordered a piece of lemon cheesecake which is the closest we’ve come to cheesecake like home (the United States) since being overseas and traveling for years. Everything in the case looks incredible and we decided to piece together a picnic lunch to take with us for our afternoon excursion. The ambiance inside the cafe is welcoming and accommodating to kids, while maintaining a quiet and peaceful vibe, amongst the bustling business.

The cost performance is too low! This is the most expensive and coffee portions smallest cafe in this area. Update: It's a pity that I received a very arrogant evaluation from the owner. Excuse me, are all three size of coffee in your store triple shots? The three size are 6/8/10 Oz, and 10OZ sells for 7.5 dollars. Most other coffee shops sell for 12oz 6.5 dollars. Of course, I know that you don't cut competition with the surrounding stores, and even don't care about the feelings of the costomers. The most important thing is to make money, good lucky.

FRUIT FLY found in cake and manager tried to hide it. ROTTEN PLACE Bad service. Coffee was average. The manager was rude from the time we walked in. I asked for a medium flat white the manager had a smirk on her face and said small or large and when i said medium she repeated small or large. She didn't bother to explain they only sell small or large. Anyways we got cake coffee and a cold drink. My son found a fruit fly stuck to the leaf in his cake so i told him to alert the staff. My mistake was not taking a photo beforehand. He went to the counter showed the manager and she pulled it rubbed it away and told him it was a bruise and pointed to an actual bruise on the leaf. She then said to my son 'did you know its a mint leaf you can eat it' and her staff laughed at a 10 year old. She stood there and bullied a 10 year old child then sent him back with the cake. At this point I was fuming i could feel my self shaking becoz I expected them to do the right thing or at least apologize. We are not stupid. My son showed me and i made sure it was a bug before i alerted the staff. I walked up to the counter tried to be rational and they all stood there and lied. I swore at them becoz was furious, my voice was shaking and I wanted to cry. How can people lie to a child and destroyed the evidence. She even said to me 'maybe the bug dropped when he walked back ' which means she saw it and she lied. This place is a joke. They gave me a refund of $6 even though i paid $7 for the cake. They asked me how much i paid for the cake ? Ummm its your product you should know. I told them it was raspberry chocolate cake they should know how much it cost. Do...

Came here this morning at 8:30, the front door was closed so we were wondering if they are in business or not, esp with the ugly front door that looks like a backdoor, we cannot see if there's anyone inside. I can understand if you think of cold weather but still, the front door needs to be open for business.

The girl at the till was nice, but your barista was busy with her phone. Is she gonna work or what?

Then after we placed the order, your barista started busy making coffee... FOR THE STAFF FIRST (not that she cannot do that but that's why you don't play with your phone when customers are around, also why she didn't make it earlier for the staff that's been working before customers arrived).

Flat white looks more like a Latte, too much foam.

I think for a place called Coffee Lab, you need to start re-training your staff on differences in coffee. Not only to pour coffee in cups, glasses or mugs but the difference in the froth/ foam.

I understand that hospitality in NZ is slammed with no working immigrants coming but it doesn't stop you to re-training your staff.

Such a shame what happened this morning as this is not the first time we...

I thought I had discovered a new coffee supplier in my new neighborhood after having tried a few coffees, but I won’t be going again. I purchased some coffee bags with the request for them to be ground for my moka pot. What I received was an incredibly fine grind that is completely unsuitable for use so I asked for an exchange. The owners daughter responded to my emails patronizing me that they know their stuff about coffee and its my “machines” fault for not being able to use the grind, and that no exchange would be offered. Really disappointed in their customer service as I’ve never had this problem with any other coffee suppliers or their grind when requested to be done for a moka pot. If anything, they would say they either cant do it and advise I’m better off doing it myself but this was not the guidance I received from Coffee lab. I’m all about supporting small business, especially after everything that’s happened this year, but this is just one of the terrible reasons that direct me to purchase from franchises that offer better...
