So disappointed as I’ve been a customer for the last several years now and slowly the quality has been declining ever since they moved from the food court to the store front next to it. Last time, it wasn’t very good (Roast pork was so unbelievably salty and not crispy but rubbery and the duck was dry and hard) thought okay must of had an off day. Went back today and now I wish I didn’t. The service was probably one of the worst I’ve experienced. The young man was so rude and unhelpful plus seemed generally annoyed to be there. No greeting, just stares at you quite intimidatingly until you order and gets irritated when you take too long to order. He just replies with a grunt or one worded answers if you have questions or modifications. I have experienced this with him before but try to look past it because the food is worth it. However that is not the case today. Rice was old and stale (as it was hard & clumpy in parts which I left because it was inedible) Duck was cold and chewy plus I did ask for boneless and I did have to pick out several small pieces and it was mainly skin and not much meat. What topped the cake for me was when, I asked for the spring onion and ginger oil on the side and chilli oil. He persisted to charge me extra for it and when I questioned why it has always been free before and is complimentary instore why I had to pay for it if I was taking away. He replied “I dunno ask the Boss” & I guess he did because I wasn’t charged in the end. Such a shame but this experience today has really put me off going ever again! I do have to travel a bit to eat there so for me it’s not worth it now. I just recommend they train someone more accomodating and approachable out front to take orders and to also tighten the reins on their quality control because I’m certain there is other customers who...
Read moreAffordable place with lovely food. We ordered two big dishes, one noodle, two rice. Only spent a bit over $60. It’s 2023, where most other places charges $20-$40 more for what we ordered. They used to be upstairs in the foodcourt and recently moved down to where Love a Duck was. Deco is still from the olden days, floor needs some cleanup and that’s the only criticism I can give.
My husband remembered seeing the lady owner worked for a different restaurant about 10 years ago. He also mentioned their eldest son was so small back then. And this little boy has now grown up to a tall and polite lad and helping his family’s restaurant, working hard at the same time keeping an eye on his little brother.
This is a humble family business, they work extremely hard to get where they are right now. From the bottom of my heart, I truely hope the best for them.
This is our 2nd visit since they moved, Sunday night the place is packed. We are so happy for them and a nice educational opportunity to our...
Read moreA week ago, I ordered takeaway from the shop and we enjoyed the food very much. Today, I decided to eat in, and it’s a shock! Food is still nice, but the experience is not very impressive. The young man over the counter need to yell to the back kitchen for our order. Nevermind. Then there was a kid sitting there watch his Pepper Pig, so loud! Then he threw something at our table and hit me! I asked the owner whether they knew this kid. Yes, it’s their kid. Well, the shocking part is the lady owner scolded the kid, and twist his ear! So hard! Oh, that was the part I felt bad. I did not want to kid to get punishment like this! He only need to be told off it’s rude to do threw thing at other’s table and he need to say...
