Mum's Chicken — Restaurant in Kaipātiki

Few years back, this place would have been an easy 5★ chicken place for me and the bois. There ain't much Korean style chicken that can compete in Auckland. Recently got normal fried chicken and spicy chicken and it still taste good but I couldn't help notice the increase in price. They increased it twice in a month and frankly speaking I feel its far too overpriced when there are cheaper healthier options elsewhere. Owners also stopped giving pickled radishes and to put salt to injury on my wallet, the portion shrank noticeably. Its still popular and people will still eat their chicken but only if one can afford it. As for older customers who remember the cheaper prices and larger portions, I can see us finding other takeouts that are kinder on our wallets.

Tldr; Much more EXPENSIVE! and less portion...

I recently tried Mum’s Kitchen for the first time, and I must say, their Korean fried chicken is absolutely amazing! I opted for a takeaway, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a deliciously flavorful coating that left me wanting more.

The staff were friendly and efficient, making the takeaway process smooth and hassle-free. I can’t wait to visit again and dine in, so I can take some videos and photos to capture the experience.

Small takeaway korean chicken place inside queen mart, opposite gatau house. I bought 1+1/2 boneless fried chicken takeout. Very fresh, fast, seasoned just right and crispy. Def visit again. The pickled radish was the best one...
