A recent visit to Dalton st AngkorWat was very disappointing! I am a regular visitor for Eggs Bene and creamy mushroom which is delish!
But this day it was served to me and a friend on STALE ciabata bread. I could NOT cut through it with my knife without lengthy difficulty and chewing it was worse! The young lady that served us offered great service, no fault on her.
But after explaining and demonstrating the difficulty cutting it to her, and she did everything right, taking it back to the kitchen to her boss...
She returned with the plate only to say that he said "What would you like him to do with it" ... I mean you got to be kidding RIGHT!
Then she asked if I would like toast instead and that she would ask him about a refund. I agreed to toast and thanked her due to limited time I had before returning to work and the fact that we were hungry and had looked forward to our what should have been a decent meal.
I scraped the almost cold topping onto another plate and gave the stale ciabata to her to take away.
She returned with the toast and a $5 refund for the STALE BREAD being served. He said that was all he could do she said. I asked her to let him know that it was very disappointing and thanked her.
SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU! The man who did not bother coming out from the kitchen to deal with the customers he had served stale food to! You must be new because the other guy was always so happy and provided great service. You mr man are a disappointment to the catering industry. Yuck!
But I will say your front of house staff are always friendly with a smile and provide great service. You could learn something from them! They get 5 Stars!
Now I have to go elsewhere for...
Read moreWe spotted this place the night before and noticed the award winning pies display so we ending up coming back to try it. The place looks like a standard bakery with sweet treat cabinet and a hot food cabinet. They also did have a menu behind the counter. The pie drawer told you which ones were award winning. You grab what you wanted then went to the counter to pay. They had quite a few tables along the window. They didn't have any vegetarian pies left so I ended up just trying the caramello slice instead with a creaming side milkshake. The slice was nice but it wasn't overly sweet like you would expect. Wasn't a big fan of the milkshake though since it didn't have much flavour. It tasted similar to the cookies and cream one my friend got. They did like the pies so probably worth stopping just...
Read moreHad the Pepper Steak Pie. Yes, the flavour was great BUT the filling was liquid (you could pour it). The pastry was little soft which was not a problem on its own, but combined with the liquid filling it made it impossible to eat holding the pie as leakage of piping hot filling would try to run out the edges. The soft pastry expanded at the bottom so the first half you got mostly pastry and second half you end up with a massive amount of runny filling you had to try to drink ! If the baker tried to eat one of his pies he would see this is not the way you build a pie if you want it edible. And almost impossible to eat the pie using a knife and fork, you would have to use a...
