The Frying Dutchman Limited — Restaurant in Napier

Today I went to the frying Dutchman and ordered some small kumara fries $4.70. When I collected my order, I was given garlic fries. I queried this with the lady who served me who told me I had asked for garlic fries which I don't eat. I told her that I had asked for kumara fries and that I was happy to pay the difference for some kumara fries. I was referred to who I presume is the boss/owner or manager who told me that it was my fault for not checking my receipt and that I would have to pay again for kumara fries if I wanted them or I could have the garlic fries. When I told him that I didn't eat garlic fries and hadn't ordered them and I was prepared to pay the difference for what I had ordered he asked me what he expected me to do with the garlic fries as they would now be thrown away. Therefore if I wanted kumara fries I needed to pay the entire cost. While I admit that I didn't check my receipt, I did so in good faith that my order was accurate. However the lack of Customer service was appalling. For the loss of a lot less than $4 to his business (based on mark up). He has now lost my return business. Ordered online only to realise once I got to the store that it’s more expensive than ordering in the shop. Told the server I had arrived. Noticed some packages in the warmer. Half an after the scheduled pick up time the server checked the warmer and the parcels that it had been in there for over half a hour, then called my name. Got to the car and opened two of the parcels to find cold food. Went back inside to get my money back or food to be cooked again. Was argued with until I gave him a chip that he said had just been cooked, and it was cold. He then proceeded to refry the same food which came out dry and awful. People seem to like this place. In fact it's listed as the top 2 in Napier and one of the best of the North Island. Unfortunately that was not our experience. The portion of chips for 2 people was barely a handful. See photo. They also tasted soft, soggy and old even though we ate them less than 5 mins after leaving the place. And the fish batter was very unpleasant. Everything tasted of old fryer oil. Really below the standard for fish and chips. We werent asked of we would prefer battered or crumbed and they dont offer grilled which is already a sign this place wouldnt be great. We won't...
