New Asia Restaurant — Restaurant in Nelson

The New Asia Restaurant situated between Trafalgar Street and Collingwood Street, in Hardy Street Nelson is very popular with their Smorgasbord Meals. Lunchtime Service is between 11.30 am, and 1.30 pm, with Dinner Service between 5pm to Late.

As mentioned above The New Asia Restaurant has a Smorgasbord Meal Service where you help yourself to as much as you like. The meal prices range from $5.90 for a small size plate, $8.90 for a medium size plate and $11.90 for a large size plate. They also have Small, Medium, and, Large plastic containers for take aways if you prefer to have a takeaway. The New Asia Restaurant also has a Licensed Bar where you can purchase Alcohol Beverage if you want, or you can have fizzy drinks or coffee if you aren't into Alcohol. If you are wondering why you have to serve yourself, don't panic as there is a cashier to welcome you onto the premises.

All in all, The New Asia Restaurant is a very well laid place with awesome decor, with Mens and Womens Bathrooms. The only down side is, if you are planning to dine there make sure you go as group, as it could be a very lonely and quiet day in the office, oh sorry it could be a very lonely time eating on your own. But please don't be put off by that, as there are some people who prefer to dine on their own as I had to on this particular day.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the kind staff and shown to a table. The moment staff noticed I had decided they approached. I ordered the jasmine tea for my drink and the chicken peices for my entrée, with the combination chowmein as my main. The chicken peices were tender, flavourful and I was also offered spices to add. When I finished my entrée the staff asked if I was ready for my main and within the minute my main was brought out. While eating, the staff asked if I'd like more hot water in my tea as well as they noticed it was low. The main was honestly incredible, I ordered a large portion and it was as stated, vegetables were fresh and the meat was perfectly cooked with the sauces of the meal well retained within.

We went with friends before a concert, we were offered and had drinks then after a lengthy wait ordered starters and our mains. Eventually the starters came out and we're very nice. The big problem we had was our mains never arrived. We had been sitting for 1½ hours and running out of time After prompting the waitress disappeared out back looking very worried and the came back and stated our mains were cancelled. Sincere apologies given admittedly but a disapoitng experience and non meal with no offer of a any kind to make up for their failure to deliver what we ordered in a more than...
