bp — Restaurant in North Island

Better than Domino's. Not as good as Disney World.

You know when you rate a place, and you think, "Am I rating this against all BPs, all service stations, or all places everywhere?"

Your brain starts to spiral and worry about where the best place you have ever been is, how good that place was, and how it compares to BP in J'ville.

And you start to think about your past and your future, wondering if you have already been to the best place you'll ever go, how many good places you have left or if, maybe, BP in Jville is your peak.

Are 5 stars enough? Too many?

Look. I'm not knocking BP in J'ville. It's OK. I went for fuel, they had fuel and were good enough to let me buy some. It all went off without a hitch. Average.

Come to think of it, if the quality of places you visit in your life follows some sort of bell curve, then maybe average is pretty likely. 3 stars is the most likely experience we will ever have.

Probably the right thing to do now is change every review I have sver done to be 3 stars. Probably won't.

Arguably, this review says more about me than it does...

I got there about 5.55am, hoping to grab a pie. I did not realise the store doors would not be open until 6am. I thought I may be able to have service through the after hours window. The lady behind the counter, who was making a coffee right in front of me did not acknowledge me at all - as a matter of fact she blatantly ignored me. I didn't want to be rude so I just stood there for 5 minutes. Suddenly at 6am the doors were opened. The thing that annoyed me was being ignored, she could have just said "sorry we are n0t able to serve until 6am OR sorry we are not open until 6am" - But nope. I was annoyed so decided to ring the store & I think it was her that answered. I asked if they were open and she said yes. I said I was waiting by the window for 5 minutes and she said "we don't open until 6" - I was about to say "why didn't you say something to me then?" BUT she HUNG UP ON ME. Incredibly rude. My company uses BP all the time, all our fuel cards are BP, but I am seriously thinking about changing for...

Never come to this BP for a car wash anymore as you have no idea when and how long it will take to repair this endless and dead machine. It never specified or gave a clear indication that the machine is broken down until you drive really close to it or ask staff inside. First time I came the light was on looking absolutely no problem from outside until I walked in and talked to the staff said it was broken. Second time after a couple months later it is still vividly visible with lightning sign on the car wash so I bought code on BP app without knowing the machine is broken until I was driving towards path with money already taken and needed up not being able to use !

Completely useless machine never...
