My good friend and I came here for a Sunday brunch date, good excuse to wake up early! The sun was shining, the birds chirping, perfect Sunday morning for a nice brunch! They have a beautiful outdoor area, which I thought would be perfect if they started serving high tea! There were plenty of seats inside as well, and the walls had sound roof paddings installed which helped a bit with the noise level. For a suburbial cafe, this was quite busy, the staff were also very friendly! we also saw some dancing and singing for a table next to us! (Now I have set the expectations!) They had recently introduced macadamia nut milk as their alternative milk as well, so we had to try this for our drinks - we ordered the trending strawberry matcha (apparently it's the drink for the young, so we feel young for having ordered it!) we also got the iced mocha, both with macadamia milk, which was quite special. My iced mocha had a scoop of ice cream inside, which was my preferred way of making iced drinks anyway 😜 we almost got the French toast but we went for savory dishes instead, after hearing the special of the day, it quickly replaced my original thought of French toast! (PS. they make their own brioche bun for the French toast) and the sourdough is from Aro bakery. The dukkah on the baked beans was very fragrant, but I particularly loved the baked beans, it had all the right flavours and was very umami and satisfying. The salmon was a very substantial portion, and for someone who does not like capers, the fried capers worked very well here and made the dish pop! Maybe capers are ok! 🤣 Overall a beautiful place, and if you are nearby, come grab a brunch or lunch from them (bonus: free parking, don't tell...
Read moreThis is my 3rd try here and it’s gone from okay , to not great and now downright bad. I pre booked a table when we arrived it had our 11 am reservations and the next reservation time of 12.30 you are instantly made to feel unwelcome and rushed. Service staff were friendly but the service was bad. we were a table of 4.the first plate to arrive after ordering was poached eggs they looked gross - they were over cooked and unappetising with no butter on the rubbery barely toasted bread, she had finished completely eating when another persons soup came hearty and described by her as nice. Then about 10 minutes later a staff member came to clear our coffee cups and asked if we had everything well obviously not as 2 of us were sitting with no meal , we had both ordered the fig burrata salad it arrived 5 minutes later and we have no idea why we bothered, the fig was sliced paper thin - I believe we had half a fig each - the burrata was tasteless and stone cold very cheap quality, there was small amount of grated beetroot , and tiny apple sticks & a bit of rocket made up the salad . For this we paid $24. At 12.15 when we had barely finished our measly salad, a staff member came to reminds we had to leave the table. Overall 3 strikes and your out, none of us will ever...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant for brunch and were disappointed with our experience. Although the prices were high, the quality of the food was not up to par. The Eggs Benedict with Bacon that I ordered had a burned, tough muffin that was difficult to cut, and the eggs were overcooked and rubbery. The bacon was of poor quality and very fatty. The portion size was small, and the hollandaise sauce tasted cheap and greasy. My husband's Big Breakfast was also disappointing, with burnt and rubbery bacon and overcooked eggs. Additionally, the food was cold by the time it arrived at our table due to a delay in service. The cramped seating arrangement made us feel uncomfortable, as the tables were too close together for comfort. We felt like we were eating in a cafeteria rather than a restaurant. Overall, our experience was not worth the high price, and we would not recommend...
