Cornerstone Bar & Eatery Tauranga — Restaurant in North Island

I’m only giving CornerStone 2 stars because their service was good, they were quick and polite and checked on us regularly. Our order was correct except they forgot to bring my wives drink. That wasn’t the end of the world, the price was fair for the Strand area, which is why we decided to get dinner there. We were able to sit outside which was very nice, and it wasn’t crowded since we had kids we thought it best. However, the bad! The food was not good, by itself it is a 1 star! I ordered the brisket sandwich, it was a good portion, but zero flavor, I have had premade meat from a bucket at the grocery store with more flavor. It was disappointing. My wife had the pulled pork, as per the description, but it had aioli, which was not listed and she doesn’t like aioli! Then my kids had chicken strips and wow they are the worst I have ever seen, dry flavorless and tasting of bad oil from the fryer . Not a bad place but the food was...

Went to dinner tonight before a movie with friends. Thought I ordered a simple easy meal - Thai beef salad. When salad came out it was served with literally 1/2 bag of lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, maybe 8 slivers of carrot, no crispy noodles and instead of the usual chili and lime dressing it had a vinaigrette! Cost $26! When expressed my unhappiness, I was told by the manager that due to Covid they had been forced to hire chefs that had never cooked before and did not know how to make a Thai beef salad. Lol. Only reason they get a 1 is that 0 is not an option and the wine was good. Would definitely recommend you spend your hard earned $$ somewhere where the chefs have actually cooked a meal before as was a complete...

Tried to eat there but couldn't as no one would take our order. After waiting at the gate for a couple of minutes, we went and got our own table in the waitress' eye sight so she would see us. 15mins later she still hadnt stopped talking to the one other table of people in entire place. Politely said hello a couple of times to her, and we waved our arms frantically to get her attention, but she would just look at us and keep talking to her friends.
