The food here was incredibly disappointing. You pay a decent amount for the food, $28.50 for the pasta and $32.50 for the chicken. You do not get value for money however. The sauce in the pasta was completely flavourless. Thankfully, there was parmesan cheese that provided some flavour. We also bought garlic bread which ridiculously costs $13 even though it was just a cheap shop bought garlic bread you could get for $5 in pak n save. Hardly any flavour of garlic, and the bread was too crispy and overdone. The chicken thigh again was completely flavourless. No seasoning, no marinade, it was literally just plain chicken thighs. I expect a lot more if i am paying a restaurant. Having it served on the hot stone was good fun. However, the gimmick quickly wore off when you ate the chicken. This is such a shame because the staff and service here were exceptional. All staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and did everything with a smile. The staff seem to have been let down by the bosses of the big chain who clearly prioritise cutting costs to boost profits over creating some great grub.

I will give 4.5 at this stage. I got lucky to redeem the coupon for 2 in 1 stone grill with a friend of mine. So, we ordered The Cut (beef) and Eye fillet and we add deluxe into it foe a roasted tomatoe and creamy much room. In my suprise I got a handfull of the order which is really fullfilling to someone like me for the first time. The online order is super handy. The staff will give you a small tablet and you can decide what to order and it goes directly onto their system and prepare your order. It was not a long wait plus the weather is fantastic. The Nojito drinks I ordered, is just taste better like I wanted as my other friend ordered a glass of wine. The staff is reliable, although they forgot to give the tomato ketchup to go with the fries. But overall, I did like the service and assist us about redeeming the coupon. I would still come here again to try their other food varieties. ^-^ keep it up.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here tonight. The young man who took care of us was exceptional đŸ‘ŒđŸ» He noticed as soon as our water had run out and topped it up, kindly picked up my daughter’s crayons she had dropped and was attentive, friendly and provided excellent service. I thought the coconut chilli mussels were super tasty and the Korean fried chicken entree was super tender - Yum ! We also ordered a premium stone grill and an open steak sandwich which were broth great. The kids LOVED the skillet cookie and I enjoyed my cocktails of the days too. Thanks CBK, we enjoy the laid back atmosphere and - how cool to have that little play area across the ‘no car’ street now. That wasn’t there last time we came (pretty sure it wasn’t?) and was so good to be able to see the kids from the large open window while they burned off some energy there. Thanks again !

Hey guys. We have supported CBK quite a few times over the last 3 years. I'm very disappointed in tonights service and food. We opted for CBK to enjoy my dad's 67th birthday and man what a shocker.

3 of the items we wanted to order was not available. So we opted for the hamburger special. The steak sandwich was so under done the steak was blue raw. Asked to have it re-done and 4 minutes later the steak was back. Still raw with blood oozing out of it. The wife's Nasi Goreng was not the same as she previously experienced either bland and dry. My son's hamburger meat were not properly done, but he did still eat it. Our table weren't serviced at all after the food were put in front of us. At the time of ordering I asked the waiter because its my dad's birthday if there is something special we can do. She mentioned a free Skillet cookie as its his birthday.

My son later collected take away containers to take home dad's raw hamburger and mum's chicken burger. After which the table still weren't serviced. I had collected all the empty plates and stacked them on top of each other and wanted to take them to the kitchen myself by this time another waiter not servicing us saw me and took the plates.

My son asked the waiter for the skillet cookie which we were still waiting for 20minutes later. I finally had enough and we called it a disaster of a night. I paid my bill and that was it. We left without even getting dad's free cookie. Upon coming home I re-checked my invoice and for the life of me I was charged for the so called free Skillet cookie.

I've spend some hard earned monies tonight to spoil my dad and family. To be so let down is a hard punch in the gut.

My message to CBK was read without any response from the team over there.

10/01/2023 Update- Owner contacted me and we had a good conversation. He rasied his apologies and and offered me a a voucher. Owner also asked me to ask for him on my next visit. This showing some serious commitment to deliver a satisfactory service.

Thabks for the time taken to catch up...

Sadly we had the worst dining experience at the Tauranga CBK yesterday, (Queens memorial day). We were given electronic ordering devices, after looking over the large food board menu. A quick demo from a male staff member ... told any problems, hit the call a staff member. My friend ordered a drink and food, I ordered a drink then struggled with the meal order. So hit the call staff button, waited too long. I knew what I wanted, couldn't find it on the device, so went inside and attempted to order from the bar. I ask the guy for Pork Belly. Nope we don't have that, I said it's on the board outside. We sold out. Ok, can I have the Beef cheeks then please? Nope we don't have that. Me, what? it's on the board outside. We sold out. Ok, can I have a hard copy of the menu please? No there is only the devices to order from, (by this stage I am feeling gobsmacked at the impersonal lack of service, and a bad attitude from ALL staff present, we asked two female staff members for help and were blantly ignored, one even said i can't help, I have jobs to do out the back. They were not busy). I said to the guy, this system is really impersonal, he said no one else has a problem with it. Shaking my head I returned to my friend and relayed the experience. We decided to go inside pay for ours drinks, to let them know we were not staying for the food that was ordered. He agreed that was a good idea. I commented that I would like to give them some constructive feedback, but feel it wouldn't be appreciated. He agreed again, saying I add got angry at him, my friend was fine but not me. What the actuall heck? CBK never again. The arrogance and complete disregard to the meaning of 'true customer service', was appalling. For the record, I did not get angry at the poor staff member, sarcasm is usually my first go too.... then there is a final slap with this review. We are both local business owners, now taking our...

Booked a table for four plus my infant child for dinner. Menu looked amazing hence we thought we would try this place. We ordered a round of drinks. Garlic bread and fried cauliflower for entrees. Then the stonegrill aged 500g eye filet/side of lobster, stonegrill 180g eye filet with kumara fries/ side of lobster, the fish chips upgraded with oysters/calamari, and curly fries for Mains. We were left waiting for 45min for the entrĂ©e garlic bread/ fried cauliflower. Which, considering they were 30-40% full was quite suprising. The real dissapointment came with the mains. The requested stonegrill 180g eye filet didn't come on a stone grill at all and the kumara fries and onion rings overcooked to a point where it may as well be crematated. The upgraded fish and chips were missing the oysters which I actually queired with the waiter. The reply I got was "I think we may be out of oysters". So.... it would have been good to know at the time of ordering as I probably wouldn’t have ordered the extra $10 upgrade to the fish and chips (I was still charged for the FULL meal btw). The waitress couldn't of cared less and walked off which left me a bit perplexed. The 500g filet steak was the only meal fullfilled correctly (hallelujah!). The calamari and the lobster tails ($19 each) were both over cooked and rubbery with I had to dip into butter sauce to try and resuscitate. Oh yeah the curly fries were forgotten so it arrived 10min after the rest of the food. Overall the food was average at best. A place that we felt could be awesome and were excited to visit was ruined through poor execution of food and service. We were left so dissapointed with our dinner that we left without fully finishing our meals and felt we should have gone to McDonalds where we probably would have gotten a better dining experience. One positive
