DK's Seafood — Restaurant in North Island

Wife not feeling great, needed seafood to make her feel better, she said.

DK's...... Here we come....

Went in mid afternoon on a Saturday. Easy parking, with disabled parking at the door.

Warmly greeted on entry. Great menu. The dining area looked nice and clean, so we decided to eat in. Easy to order, with a good price, let's see what we get for that, eh. After a quick read of the "coffee news" to which the wife won the quiz. The meal arrived.......... The wife had ordered the Flounder meal. Needed 2 plates, to fit that meal.. I hope she is hungry.. Look at her eyes, you see them getting bigger. If she wasn't too hungry before, she is now. 10 points here. Happy wife happy life.

Then my Snapper meal arrived, while only on 1 plate, it did present me with a problem. If I could not eat it all, what was I going to leave behind? The big bit of fish or all that salad, eggs and chips. I hate these sort of problems. I decided to eat the extras and if needed, I would bag the fish to eat on the way home..... Well I didn't need that bag..I bit the bullet and squeezed it all in, some how. Wife needed that bag.

Not good. Never tried this place before and generally looked busy and thought it must be alright. Got the $20 deal with 3 fish , 2 hot dogs and chips. Chips were soggy and not fresh oil. Hot dogs were average. 1 of the pieces of fish had a peice of hair in it and that just happened to be the peice that my Mrs was eating when we took it back home. Very disappointed with the food. Service was OK and shop presented alright. But very below average food. Would not recommend this...

Really happy, We made a phone order on our way in to town. They were polite on the phone. When we arrived our order was 1 minute away from being ready and we were a minute earlier that expected. The fish was delicious, large pieces and the batter perfectly coated the fish and was crispy. The chips were great. We will definitely...
