Food is average. We booked for 6.30pm and were asked if we could come at 7.30. We were fine with that but had to wait for a table even after we arriving at 7.30. What was very disappointing was that the girl at the reception seemed extremely confused. I asked her what was included in the voucher and she showed me the menu for the barbecue, I confirmed with her if we can order apart from the set a and b menu. In spite of asking 3 times we didn't receive our drinks, finally ended up cancelling it. Later while checking out she tells me I have to pay over the voucher that we had already bought and I had not bought anything extra. I asked her for her name but I guess she was still confused so she asked the manager something in Japanese (which seems pretty rude to do in front of a non-Japanese speaking person) and said her name was Silvia. Frankly, the experience was crappy due to poor management. The manager seemed genuine as the poor guy was running around a lot. Good luck to them, they need someone better at...

Had a really awesome dinner here with my family. It was my first time experiencing the food being made in front of me. Even though we shared an extended dining table with other patrons, it felt very private nonetheless! The ‘cooking show’ was so much fun for us all, and we were in awe at the chef’s amazing talent. He was very engaging and friendly and the food was incredible. Very filling and it was quite nice having breaks in between each different meal to watch and chat and enjoy each thing that was made. Catching the rice and the egg was hilarious! The food was all mouth watering and the ice cream at the end topped it off. We all really enjoyed ourselves and the staff were all lovely. Nice authentic gem to find in the Wellington foodie scene! Will definitely be returning. I recommend the emperor meal (sorry if I have that wrong. It was the $65 set meal and included fish, chicken, steak, rice, green tea,...

When it comes to food I turn into a critic but this place deserves an applaud 👏👏👏 Totally recommended if you wanna experience something different than usual. So, the entrance, exterior or the ambience may not appear to be flash but the food at Fujiama Teppanyaki Japanese đŸœđŸ„˜ is served with a flash or should I say swag 🌋..Yes flaming grill right in front of you (ignore the emoticon here) !! Had gone to Fujiama Wellington on the eve of my birthday and it totally made my day â˜ș. The food was fresh, delicious, well cooked with right amount of spice!! The menu is vast, divided in various sets of seafood, chicken/lamb and vegetarian options (which makes life easier for a finicky eater like me 😋). The drink menu is good too, I saw some Japanese wine in there but choose to have pinot noir đŸ· Service was fast and fierce 😄. 5* to Fujiama Teppanyaki Japanese, Wellington. #teppanyaki #wellingtonfood...

We've been a few times now and while not cheap, it's pretty cool for the spectacle of the large flames, watching the speedy chefs do their thing in front of you, and catching bowels of rice and eggs which is always a crowd pleaser. The food generally tastes good, although I had the steak for the first time and it was incredibly chewy which was very disappointing, so won't have that again. The restaurant extraction fans struggle to keep up with clearing all the cooking smoke and could do with a revamp or some more added to the ceiling to grab the extra smoke the big fans miss. The toilets were "quite disgusting" and not well maintained so need some serious attention, such as fixing the locks on the doors and keeping them clean!! (this from the other people with us)

A Fantastic Experience! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Every dish was a pleasure to eat, and the entertainment was the perfect touch, making the evening even more enjoyable. The cherry on top? The staff. They were beyond friendly, attentive to every detail, and made us feel like royalty. Their warmth and professionalism added so much to the ambiance, making the night truly special. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable night out!
