We were excited to try the Hot Pot buffet and were not disappointed! $48 per person (minimum two people) Is usually on the pricey side for us, but for the area we were in we thought it was quite reasonable. The $7 drink jugs are definitely a bargain. One jug served about 8 of their glasses. Id recommend the plum juice if you want to be adventurous (its not that adventurous but ive never had a jug of plum juice!) It was a Friday after mid-day when we went, and to get to the restaurant we had to go up a flight of stairs (I did not see any wheelchair access). The restaurant itself was empty, and had a certain rustic charm about it. When we got to the counter we did not see any servers, but after a couple minutes one greeted us, gave us the hotpot menu and was very friendly. They made sure the space was very accommodating. We marked a few things we were familiar with, and a few things we were unsure but were willing to try. Everything that did not have a price next to its name on the menu is included in the initial price of the hotpot and once everything came out, the server told us to call, if we wanted anything extra. (We got far more than we were expecting so we did not ask for more.) Over all we were happy with everything we got, although all the meat seemed to have been once frozen which is to be expected at most slow moving businesses. We also payed $5 extra for the tomato base(which id highly recommend) We were also worried about the extras fee so we tried to eat everything, although the server did not seem fussed after. I would say the best thing to do would order smaller portions and ask for more if you're still hungry 😁 Next time we're in, we're gonna try convince family to come with us as its definitely a social experience 😊

We went here last night (3 of us) for hot pot. It was our first time here and overall I really enjoyed it. They seem a bit short staffed so the staff members did seem a bit stressed (it was busy). The place does get really loud and hard to hear your own conversations. The food was overall pretty fresh (prawns were frozen), but they do give you A LOT, so for any newbies, I suggest you order less than you normally would and you can always add more if needed. I add some pictures of the amounts they give of beef, lamb, fish and prawns (those dishes they come in are deep). I didn't include the veggies, sorry. We had the chicken broth on one side and the mushroom on the other. The fish was delicious and very fresh, and the sweet potato noodles were a fav. I honestly would rather have the sweet potato noodles over the hot pot noodles.

My boyfriend booked us a table online and got confirmation and everything and on the day of our reservation we were there on time but they couldn’t find our reservation. We had to show them the confirmation and they gave us a tiny table and it was so squeezed that even the waitresses couldn’t serve properly. The staff was so friendly but as someone who lived in China for 5 years I was kinda disappointed with the taste of hotpot dishes. The prices are definitely cheap but the quality wasn’t good. Maybe it was cuz that we were there on a busy night but I’m not sure if I wanna go there again.

1 star is an overstatement for sure. This is the first and the very LAST time we will ever be going to this place! They need to close this establishment down. As you walk in you get the feeling it’s an old, Dirty little restaurant, still grease on the the gas stoves, needs vacuum and properly deep clean, the woman at the front desk barely speaks English, she’s loud and argumentative and makes no sense at all. She’s always barking at you from any questions we have about costs or drinks she’s awfully unaware and disconnected from the customer. We were a big group so should expect to be treated well since we were about to pay a lot. Food took so long to come out. Booked for 5PM doors opened at 4:50PM, chef and assistant arrives at 4:59. Front desk woman is rushing around. Everything was arranged in emails week ahead so I expected it to be ready and prepared but instead highly unorganised, asked same questions we’d already sorted in emails, makes a big scene about the “no seafood” hot pot I asked for in the emails week ahead of booking date. Hardly a buffet, no proper communication, paid over $300 for food for my own group of 5 adults and 2 kids + extra jugs of drinks. When the rest of the 9 adults in our group came in she was rude and dismissive. The cups were old and small. The food was frozen. When we needed extra jugs she showed us different sizes (very small) but for the same price as the 5 jugs I ordered before. I also planned this dinner since month before asking for 1 hot pot to be no seafood and was told that was ok but when we got there was told had to pay extra even tho we paid all up over 1k for food and drinks at this place and organised well ahead of the date. Such a big disappointment. A difficult person to deal with and actually lost our appetite + frozen food, toilet was disgustingly unhygienic especially since that’s the only place to wash hands. We had to open the windows ourselves coz it smelt old damp and weird when we walked in. Worse service in the southern hemisphere. We only went to this place because the birthday girl really wanted to experience hot pot and they’ve ruined it entirely. The food you order came out wrong, still frozen and worse quality. What was the point of having sauces on the menu if you end up having to get it from sauce sharing table where we had to tell the manager/waitress to refill and the restaurant literally just opened. The hot pot was bland and even worse you pay another EXTRA for mushroom flavoured broth. When she comes to refill the broth an hour later it’s a weird murky water we had to refuse it. You have to yell out to get refills because they avoid providing any more service. The menu does not match their service. The restraunt and food looks nothing like social media and website pictures. Very low effort low quality low customer service low everything. If I could add minus -100 stars, I would. Wish I’d read the reviews before going but trusted their quick email communication and website pictures etc. still finding it hard to believe a place like this exist in NZ felt 4th world country and quite disgusting feeling to have ever had to experience this in my own hometown. No respect for food, service or common business practices at all. You need to...

This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. The staff need to learn some basic English skills and learn how to run a restaurant. Absolutely disgraceful service they literally took 2 plus hours to take our order and bring our food. They had to use a calculator to add up each persons meal and make them pay 1 by 1 reaching over the table with their eftpos machine while taking our order all 12 of us! Instead of just taking our damn order then paying at the end like most normal restaurants would. It was like they had absolutely no clue on what the hell they were doing, they knew we were coming as it was pre booked thing and yet they clearly didn’t have the staff or just the staff were not good at their job, absolutely the worst service I’ve ever experienced by far.

As for the food… They served the food on plates and dishes that have broken glass chipped all over them!!! SAFETY HAZARD!! I mean come on people that’s just basic stuff.

The food was below average and they messed up everyone's orders due to barely being able to speak English or understand English. Some of us they gave us the food and then later came and took it away again because they forgot something, another one of us paid cash and they took it away and forget to come back with the $20 change until we had to chase them up to go and get it.

I ordered noodles with chicken and prawns and it didn't have any prawns it in at all and only 2 tiny pieces of chicken even after having to pay an extra $3 for them to be added.

I do NOT recommend this...
