Kosmos — Restaurant in North Island

Unfortunately there have been a couple times where my partner and I have had average experiences with the Kosmos coffee cart outside the train station, with today’s experience tipping us over the edge. My partner is vegan and always requests her coffee with oat milk, she makes it very clear when ordering that she wants an iced latte/flat white with OAT milk. Unfortunately twice, she has been given a coffee with normal milk and it makes her feel really bad having to ask for it to be re made.

We usually look past it and kept coming back because the lady who works out the coffee cart is nice and the coffee is usually really good too. Unfortunately everything was below average today including service. We went to order our normal (x2 iced lattes, 1 with oat milk) and we had a Kosmos sticker card which entitled us to x1 free coffee, which we went to use with our order. The lady then said “oh these only apply to coffees”??? (Last time I checked an iced latte is a coffee). In the past every time we ordered our iced coffees we got given stamps on our loyalty card, so I’m not sure why we then wouldn’t be eligible to get an iced coffee for our 1x free coffee. If the loyalty/stamp card only applied to hot coffees it would have been good for this to be explained from the start, and then not give us stamps every time we ordered iced coffees.

Anyway it was too awkward to argue about it so my partner ended up changing her order to a flat white, I got an iced coffee. However when I got the coffee it looked off, it had a green tinge to it and when I tasted it, it tasted off too. It definitely seemed as it had been cross contaminated with matcha somehow, it was pretty bad I had to chuck it out and we ended up going somewhere else. If your after some good coffee look no further. Popped in whilst visiting Wellington and was a pop in to remember .I ordered a latte and mum had a latte with oat milk the first sip was a sip of heaven.

One of the best coffees I have had in Wellington, mum also said the same coming from her too was a compliment as she's quite picky when it comes to barista made coffee.

Prices are fair and reasonable too, service very friendly. Beautiful scenery to look at whilst you wait with chairs to take a seat on if you want to soak up some sun.

10/10 will now make this my coffee spot when I'm next in...

I was disappointed with the service at this café. The barista (possibly the owner) took my order, then proceeded to take an order from a group of his friends afterward—and made theirs first. After a 10-minute wait, he handed their drinks out the side door before I had to remind him that I was still waiting for mine.

When he finally made my order, he forgot to include the extras I had requested. The coffee was decent, but the service was terrible, and frankly, disrespectful...
