Had a beautiful breakfast at Lime today. Sweet corn fritters with bacon, warm tomato relish and hollandaise for me and, French toast with banana, bacon, maple syrup and cream for hubby. Our coffees were perfect, made exact to our request. I have two negatives but Iโm sure they can be ironed out easily. 1. Our coffees were ordered soon after we were seated yet we didnโt get them until weโd finished our meal. They were also in disposable cups because they were out of large coffee cups. In hindsight if Iโd known this I wouldโve got small coffees in reusable cups so as not to add unnecessary waste to the environment. 2. The cutlery was being dried in full view of customers with a rather โwell used / unclean lookingโ tea towel. Iโd suggest either drying cutlery at the back or have lovely white towels just for cutlery, especially if drying is done in view of customers. Weโll definitely be back because all in all, we had a lovely breakfast with great customer service and...
ย ย ย Read moreAVOID this cafe. Ate there yesterday at 2:30pm (just before closing) and by 6pm that evening my friend has been throwing up ever since and his wife today. Serious case of food poisoning. He had the cream cheese and salmon bagel and she had the veggie tart. He can't keep anything down, not even water. I rung them first thing this morning to explain and they said they warmed the bagel up, to soften the bread, so it's not so hard. Apologised but didn't offer a refund. They tried to say its not them, I said they're friends from the UK and have been staying with us for 5 days and we've all been eaten the same stuff and this is the first thing we've all eaten something different, so it's obvious.
As we were leaving they were re-wrapping all the sandwiches and rolls, to obviously reuse tomorrow. Clearly not fresh on the day! They clearly need to review they're food hygiene practises. My children and I had chips and a fritarta and thankfully we...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Lime Cafe in Rotorua presents a mixed experience. While the menu and food quality are commendable, the service standards leave much to be desired.
The primary concern lies in the service delivery. Drinks were served with significant delays between them, disrupting the dining flow. Futhermore, the staffs demeanor was notably unwelcoming. The lack of interaction and absence of smiles created a less than inviting atmosphere.
The staffs customer skills need improvement. The staff member delivering drinks should focus on providing a more personable service, while the other staff member delievering the food should handle the plates with more care.
Overall the Lime Cafe's sucess hinges on improving service quality to match its culinary offerings.
add: Music was also terrible. I dont think the majority of older people i seen in the cafe want to listen to the horrible...
