Our dinner was a small intimate dining experience to celebrate my partner's birthday. I chose Lustre based on the reviews, and it didn't disappoint. We opted for the Potluck menu and the flavours , textures and presentation of each dish was a creative, and delicious surprise. Nothing short of sophisticated perfection. Ranging from oyster, trevally, venison , lamb and more. We put our trust in the waiter to pair our drinks, to suit our pace. The warmed brandy at the end of the night was a glowing hit for me . Unfortunately no photos to post, as we were too busy enjoying the experience and the fabulous music playing in the background. The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable on the ingredients of each course. We walked into a lovely warm restaurant , that was appreciated on a winters night. The decor was very purposeful and contemporary , creating an intimate environment. Loved the painting on an angle! Highly recommend and thank you chef brothers Tim & Aaron for making our night a special experience. We will definitely be back to try another...

This was my second visit to Lustre Restaurant and, once again, it was exceptional. The two chefs are clearly highly knowledgeable and skilled – every dish we had was beautifully crafted and packed with flavour.
My first visit was for a special Mother’s Day dinner and we had the pot luck menu, wine matched and also they created a nonalcoholic matching which was excellent, it was such a fun and memorable experience. The environment is lovely – relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for a great night out. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates top-quality food in a comfortable setting. I’ll definitely...

Inside the decor is tasteful and feels high quality without being flashy, leaving the food to do the talking. We opted for the taster menu - coming in at a highly reasonable $65 for four courses (with 7 different dishes!) We were served by one of the owners, who knowledgeably and generously talked us through the incredibly well designed selection of dishes made from of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The wine accompaniment is also priced very reasonably - although we opted for two negrois to start with which were also excellent. Honestly the best meal I've had in New Zealand since I arrived 6 months ago, and such good value too!! Would...
