This establishment is making a complete and absolute mockery of everything Mcdonalds stands for.

Here are the details of the experience that almost made me lose all trust in McDonald's forever: At 11:42pm (18 minutes before the interior restaurant closes) we walked into the packed interior of the restaurant and attempted to order. This perfectly resonable request was shot down in flames by a worker who informed us that they were closed 18 whole minutes early. Unphased by this and having never been let down by the Mcdonalds 24hr drive-thru before, we got back in the car. Still blissfully unaware of the betrayal we were about to be subjected to, we pulled up to the drive-thru microphone. However, the anticipation for maccas and joy it would bring was quickly torn to pieces and thrown through an industrial woodchipper. Upon attempting to purchase fast food from the fast food restaurant McDonalds, for the 2nd time in 15 minutes, our simple request was once again sent packing. We were informed that the kiosk was apparently broken and so no orders could be taken. Devasted by this deception we exited the drive-thru, catching glimpses of the staff hiding away as they pretended they were unable to fufill their duties. A member of our party commented "I've never been more angry".

I write this review not for me or those who had to suffer through this horrifying ordeal with me, but to shed light on the atrocities being committed at the matamata mcdonalds. I implore the upper management of Mcdonalds, for the sake of the great name of their corporation, to step in and personally disown and shut down this store. Urgent action must be taken in order to restore the reputation of Mcdonalds...

I normally wouldn't bother commenting about products and service but our experience at Matamata McDonald's today, just after mid-day was that good that I thought I would share a quick review. Firstly, the lady running the drive thru ordering was friendly, clear and repeated our order perfectly. Secondly, the food was neatly packed in the bag, same with the drinks with the correct amount of straws. Thirdly, the food was fresh and tasty. Our Sundaes were presented beautifully and tasted even better. Again, another lady at the second window was unflusted and hospitable. The whole process from ordering, payment and meal deliver only took a few minutes. By far the fastest MD drive thru I have been through in the last few years. All drinks had the perfect amount of ice with the drinks tasting great. The ice actually lasted the hour drive back to Hamilton Lol. The fries were perfect along with the burgers and nuggets. Overall It was a refreshing experience after many years of poor service in some of the main centres. Awesome Matamata McDonald's. We will...

Standard McDonalds food. The store is ok, with a few different dining areas, several tills and a McCafe. The screens where you can place your order when the queues for the till are long (like this morning) give the wrong order number and don't print receipts. The two stars is because the staff treated me like an idiot when I asked for my coffee ("you have to go to the McCafe to get it") and because it took over fifteen minutes to collect my small and simple order. Sure, saying "sorry about the wait" is better than nothing, but it's not nearly as good as getting orders filled quickly. I wish these guys would put the fast back into fast food. And the coffee was not good, once I finally got it. Good location on the corner of the roundabout in Matamata, though the entrance can be difficult to find (it's a bit further down SH27 to the south) and the exit is left turn only. No good if you want to go east to Tauranga. The carpark is small and people drive through it really fast so backing out of your park is a risky business. Overall I won't be coming back...

it’s a hot day, we were sweating, we were starved. crawling towards the nearest food salvation we saw the golden arches of mcdonald’s in the distance. we followed the light of hope to find ur wonderful and patient staff. who dealt with our various and quiet odd requests, ur new ‘for two‘ option is so dope. we got told to wait around the corner for our food to be delivered, and so silly of us we parked in the wrong spot ! but ur lovely staff still walked over to us 🩷 firstly, chips - perfectly cooked and the salt to chip ratio was 👌🏼 burgers were all made perfectly to order and both cheese burger enjoyed thoroughly! the mcchicken could’ve done with more lettuce and the big mac is saved 4 later ;) hope all staff at mcdonald’s matamata have a great and safe christmas!!

We drove through Mc Donald Matata on the way to Auckland and chose a Massive Hunger buster breakfast menu. It should contain 2 muffins, 1 hashbrown and 1 hot chocolate. I upgraded the drink to a large flat white and paid $15.10. But when I opened the bag in the car, there were 2 muffins and one muffin was in the dirty paper container. Sticky with sauce. The english muffin bread was terribly squeezed which was not proper to serve. And there was no hash brown. I really disapponted. Every time I go to Auckland I have poped over here to get some food and always satisfied there. But not this time. I hope they improve.
