Pure Cafe — Restaurant in North Island

Not good. If I want to have a coffee in a takeaway cup because I drink my coffee slowly (I like it to keep warm) I don't need to get a lecture on how your takeaway cups are not recyclable and you won't serve a coffee in said cup to consume it in house. Poor customer skills. Change your cups to be more environmentally friendly and look after your clients. And another tip, don't just walk away and leave paying customers hanging there. Ordered a coffee in atakeaway cup as I do most other places. Sat down to wait for it which has never been a problem anywhere. Was told that for future reference if I planned to dine in that they wouldn't do takeaway cups for me due to waste. I hadn't actually planned to dine in but if I did what's the fuss? Was made to feel very unwelcome and after coming here every Monday for the last month I'll happily buy a $7 coffee...

Been a frequent guest at Cafe Pure since it first started at Kaka Street in Whangārei. The coffee beans are excellent and locally roasted and the barista makes a great brew! I had some of the best scones in NZ here as well! The cafe also promotes sustainability by encouraging to bring your own cup as well as selling ceramic cups.
