Morningside Fish&Chips — Restaurant in Northland

These people hands down make the most yummiest fish and chips and in a timely fashion. The chips are cooked to perfection every single time, if you like your chips crispy around the outside with a soft pillowy centre than this is the place to go. They also do seafood a great tribute which ever you may like fish, oysters and kutai etc all cooked perfectly. The batter, the consistency of it exquisite and drained very well. Also if you are lucky enough to go in-store on a day that they have gotten fresh shell fish in you can get an oyster served raw with a lemon wedge absolute heaven sent.

So yes it's a 10/10 review for the couple who run the Morningside Takewaway's and their food. They provide a great service with great timing and excellent...

For the price, I think this is not a bad place for fish and chips. We got a regular combo A and B. The samosas and spring rolls were okay, as were the fries. The fried crab stick was overly mushy. The fish itself was completely soggy by the time we walked over to our car. I tried to pick it up and the fillet somehow just slipped out of the fried batter. The fish itself was good, but none of the fried outer layer was actually crispy. Based on other reviews, mine was probably an outlier but this for me was not...

We were the first customer of the day, I suppose, and bought 5 fish and 2 chips. Less than 10 minutes later at home the fish was super soggy, no crispy batter at all, and when we tried to air fry them, they were too sticky to pull apart from each other, so the batter came out and slipped from the fish.
