I find there are too many stalls at markets that think they have the massive overheads that the supermarkets have, and the prices are dearer now than supermarkets. The commercial vegetable stall, huge as it is has product 50% dearer than the supermarkets and and certain stalls like bananas and watermelon are twice as dear as supermarkets. I spoke to Robert at the markets and he said just don't buy from them. The Chinese guy who sells strawberries and now watermelon is 4 times the price of the supermarkets, and can't understand English just laughs at you. Awesome little market with seasonal local produce. Got some probiotic chill sauce which is incredible and everything else you'd expect to find at a growers market. Some tips: take along bags or a basket, go early if you want eggs as they're usually sold out first (before 8am) and park by the library as the parking by the market fills quickly!
